On simple tire, yes.

Discount and other retailers had the 315/70 in a load C and what’s out of stock and on National backorder.
You might want to check Toyos site, they only offer the three sizes I mentioned and in those load ranges. They don’t offer a 315 in a C rated tire.

It’s been mentioned multiple times in this thread

The new Toyo A/T III tires are on. Took them for a short drive this afternoon.

Cornering has definitely improved. I don't feel the treadblocks of those Firestone M/T tires squirming around anymore.

Road noise is also improved. There is still a little whine on concrete but no thrum thrum thrumming that I heard with the M/Ts.

Currently running them at 40 PSI cold. I may reduce that a bit (2 - 4 lbs) and see how they wear & see if there is any improvement in mileage. For now I'll leave 'em alone and burn up a tank of fuel. Then I'll air down and see how it goes.

I'll get some pics taken in the next day or so. I have some before pics with the original tires on and I got some height measurements taken from the ground to the top of the wheel arches. Now I'll compare those with new measurements.

The tire size I chose, 285/75R17, looks pretty good on the stock suspension and stance. Defintely an improvement over what I had.

All in all my first impression is a good one.

I wondered about going that low but wasn't sure. You think that PSI will be OK for the tire?
Absolutely, my cold psi is usually 35

Just ask @cosine he knows!
FYI, I reached out to Toyo today, the only tire they offer in a C load range is 35/11.5/17. The 315/70/17 is a D rated tire.
D-rated still a great option on a JL IMO.

35x11.50x17-C seems like a no brainer over a 315/70/17-D
Depends what you're using it for, the narrower 11.5 is a clear choice for cutting through the snow or mud (or extremely tight trails), the wider 315 better suited for rock work and regular trail running where a wider tread block works better (typically).

I love my 35x11.50 AT3s. Perfect balance between on-road manners and off-road prowess. I do light off-roading on fire roads, gravel and snowy terrain in winter. I also liked my stock Rubicon wheels. These were the perfect match.
