It is a glitch in the configurator. It will be 2 inches taller.

I can't say for sure if it's a glitch or intentional, as they may have thought the stock ride height of the 392 looked weird on the configurator when sitting on the stock 33's, but you are absolutely correct that it is included. :like:

For those curious, check out these pics from the official reveal. The first four pics show the Granite Crystal Grey 392 that has 35" Nitto Trail Grappler tires. Then take a look at the last 2 pics of the Hydro Blue with the stock 33" BFG KO2's.

In my opinion, there is a considerably bigger gap between the fender and tire on a 392 with 35's than on a standard JLU Rubicon on 35's, and the bigger gap is even more visible in the pics of the Hydro Blue with 33's.

In fact, I think the stock 33's look too small on the 392, when compared to how nice they look on a Stock Rubi with no lift.

Hence the reason I wonder if the appearance on the configurator was actually intentional. 🤷‍♂️

I’m very curious about this “2 inch factory lift” seeing as it doesn’t look any taller than a regular Rubicon. Probably a build bug but I still suspect it will not be two inches taller than a Rubicon.
A. You're going to have to teach me how to make GIF's, that's killer.
B. Check out my post about this if you're interested, it's #46 in this thread.

That’s way off base.
Here is my exact order of my 392 but with the diesel. Everything is on there except the all time 4 wheel drive which is not available on the diesel.
https://www.jeep.com/bmo.wrangler.2...1,AST,RC4,HT3,MM3,XNY,GXD,XBM,ADH,CWA,XDB,26R

So for 10-12k more you get the 392 and all the 392 extras. 2 inch lift with Fox shocks, bead lock capable wheels, dual mode exhaust, functional hood, paddle shifters, sport bolstered seats, as well as all the bronze colored bits. With a factory warranty. Can’t get that in the aftermarket. So for those of us who wanted a V8 Wrangler.. it’s a great deal.
Sure when comparing a diesel to a 392. Back out the upgrade for the diesel (which is also excessive) and compare to a V6. It isn’t 10-12k.

They will sell no worries folks will have to have the top of the line, always happens. They will also be heavily discounted once the new kids on the block are done buying theirs. All the GC fanboys thought the same thing about the Trackhawk. Those are sitting (at MSRP) and even discounted.

Disappointed that the only option for gearing is 3.73. For that price at least a 4.10.

PS. I really i want those mopar half doors when will those be available for sale?

At the dealer separate? Unknown. As part of a new Jeep build? Today.

I was assuming same lift as Mohave glat. That’s 2 inches. I think the Mohave looks really good with that 2 inch stance and the factory tires.

Ha. Jeep now offers the Wrangler in 2.0T, 3.6, Diesel, 4XE, 392 Hemi, and a full electric version is in the works. But now, a turbo I-6 or 5.7 V-8 is “desperately needed” for the JL to “compete with Bronco.” I respectfully disagree. For more reasons than what’s under the hood.
Nope, he is on to something. And there are many more wishing the same as him. I'm sure we aren't the only two who want to see a 5.7 for a small upcharge and less than the diesel available on base model Sport on up. They can forego the gizmos, fulltime 4x4 if possible and that newfangled snorkelhood. Yo JEEP! Hey, keep the 392 and keep the diesel, just please add an affordable 5.7!

One other factor - no discounts on the 392 yet.... I priced out a 392 at $78,000...I paid $53,000 for my similarly equipped 2020 Recon which had a sticker close to $58,000. That’s not a small difference. A v8 would be fun, but the v8’s sticker is $10,000 more than it should be. I guess high price is one way Jeep can avoid impacts to its mpg compliance efforts. If I want speed, the 2.7 turbo Bronco will get me there at the same price as a 2.0l loaded rubicon. The Bronco won’t rock crawl as well but it will beat the wrangler by most other measure. I am a wrangler fan but the value proposition is diminishing with factory price gouging. A day of reckoning is coming...soon.
Well... you may be right. It does seem pretty steep. But, a 392 hemi in a JLUR is a unique proposition for sure. But, there has to actually be a Bronco to compare. Still waiting, & waiting, & waiting. So, maybe once the Bronco is out, we can actually see what it can do & exactly what the price will be.

Until then, I will enjoy my 2020 JLUR V6, non BSG. Plus, I like the looks of the 4 door Wrangler a whole lot more than the 4 door Bronco.

But, I do agree that once the Bronco is out, it may actually change pricing & options on the Wrangler. I know I would really like to see a 5.7l V8 in a JLUR like mine. I might actually trade in for that. But, I don't need a 392, though it does sound awesome & look like a lot of fun.

Yes the price of the 392 is steep, if you just look at at the price. It's expensive but not excessively for what it is in a stock Rubicon. For those comparing it to the bronco.... there's been other attempts to knock the wrangler off it's throne. The FJ, perfect example. I my self am coming from a completely built up 4runner, and in no way did it compare to a wrangler unless I want to pass one going 80+ on the freeway. The 392 IMO is the pentacle of of the best off road vehicle ever produced. The bronco is another suv that is off-road capable, nothing more. Look at it's introduction video with a wheel dangling in the air on a road that looks nothing more than a service road. I'll even admit that some of my 4runners limitation where operator orientated but I'm pretty sure the IFS had a lot to do with that. I hope that some of your predictions about the price dropping and this becoming readily available are right. Though it seems a lot of bad ass models through out the years have had extremely short productions and to me rolling the dice with this isn't the worth extra 10k, 15k, 20k, how ever you want to equate the difference. I would easily through that into another Wrangler trying to get it to where the 392 comes from the factory.

Let’s hope is can survive beyond 1-2 years of production to drop below MSRP. Given the current administrations attitude towards 13mpg gas burners, we can’t count on it.

“Launch Edition” does imply future 6.4L V8s. In the same vein, there are those that have said this will be the only edition released.

The Bronco will fare better as it will only have turbo and hybrid engines for the foreseeable future.

First 392 in the wild for sale at a dealer in Vegas.... or is it???

Looks like this dealer got tired of waiting for Jeep and built their own version of a 392 Rubicon, and they did a good job mimicking it. Only a true 392 fan would notice the differences.

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=563227020&zip=92025&referrer=/cars-for-sale/searchresults.xhtml?zip=92025&fuelTypeGroup=GSL&city=Escondido&startYear=2020&incremental=all&modelCodeList=WRANGLER&makeCodeList=JEEP&sortBy=derivedpriceDESC&location=%5Bobject+Object%5D&state=CA&firstRecord=0&marketExtension=include&relevanceConfig=default&searchRadius=300&trimCodeList=WRANGLER%7CUnlimited+Rubicon&isNewSearch=false&startYear=2020&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0&modelCodeList=WRANGLER&makeCodeList=JEEP&searchRadius=300&trimCodeList=WRANGLER|Unlimited Rubicon&makeCode1=JEEP&modelCode1=WRANGLER&clickType=listing

If you look at the details, the dashboard is red like a regular Rubicon, and the shifter has a 2H option.... interesting...

Also details like the hub caps for the rims, no steel bumper, etc...

Whats even more interesting the price!!! Here we go...... it's sad that dealers are going to take full advantage of this.

I'll keep my $55k Moab, thanks. $20,000 for a $4k or less option for the same engine on other platforms? Ford Bronco is going to steal many many sales from Jeep over this.
Does your $55k Moab have
  • Factory 2 in. lift
  • Hood Scoop
  • Beadlock capable wheels
  • ESS delete (probably worth $10k alone  )
  • Big-ass Hemi with warranty
  • Probably some other stuff (better brakes, frame, etc.)
$20k more than your Moab is a lot, but it's not like it's a "$4k or less" difference in vehicles.

WOWOWOW.

$104k. I wonder where he got the emblems from. While this is neat, it will not be the full, reliable, warranted matched package which the 392 is. And that ladies and gentleman, is why the 392 is worth the value (to some). Is that to make the same thing on your own won't be as good, and likely cost more.
