It may not look like it, but I have worked on this thing all day and many more days of work are in front of me. Good times and an excellent way to spend time in the pandemic.

Looking better already. I've never been a fan of the whole black and red thing. Although, I guess I'm not a fan of all the red on the Rubicon either, so maybe I just don't care for red...
Anyway. Hoods better without all the red, and I notice work has already begun on the grille/bumper.

Noble idea to rescue a JK like this. Please tell me you had it towed to your house in the middle of the night when your neighbors were asleep and immediately put in the garage.

Have to admit that I love driving it when I can forget about all the crazy installed on it. Good Jeep, I'm gathering up the parts to make it functional as a Jeep.

Well I got the home tint ripped off today and had my friend tint this one with some 20% as per my usual. The red WRANGLER is coming off the windshield today, and it was warm enough to take the doors off since I couldn’t roll the freshly tinted windows down and installed some needed mud.

I seen the post title and was going to jump in and say "it wasn't" before seeing it, but then ooooof....

Amazing recovery with the new front end. :fist bump:
Thanks, and it truly did start out as a fugly Bro-Dozer. The de-bro'ing process will take awhile but we will get there.

Huge improvement already. This is a brilliant idea taking something tacky you can get a good deal on and rehabing it. Thank you for sharing the journey, looking forward to seeing how it goes from here!

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
All I would do is change the front grill. Then drive it with pride. Might even act a little smug with it. LOL.

Eh I've already ordered bumpers, flares, etc.

Would love to find a suspension setup for it for cheap, it's still running stock springs/shocks.

I took the time to drag out the pressure washer yesterday to see how much red paint I could get off of the frame, not too bad. Anyone have recommendations on what to be able to get them back to black with? I’m thinking rattle can bedliner.

I did find the biggest rattle in the Jeep I’m proud to say, the rear bolts of the sound bar were missing. 😳

Man, what a difference a little red removal and a stock grille can do. Much better.
I think the bed liner spray should work quite well to get the frame back to black.

I think getting everything a nice even coat of black will be extremely helpful.

I contacted a local spray-in bedliner company and got a quote on coating the aluminum inner fenders, but that came back high so I may be trying to get them black myself also.

Like the name!

For now I have dubbed the project as "Project Toneittheeffdownasap". I think it's catchy.
