Kate @ Jeep Cares - Left PM for you, so far no answer

To all - there is another thread discussing this same issue - “In my 2021 Wrangler Owners Manual pages 295-305, there is a Safety Features section that covers ABS, EBC, EBD, ERM, ESC, HDC, HSA, RBS, RAB, SSC and TSC...” My plan is to try turning OFF the ones that can be shut down manually on our next off-road trip. Has anyone else tried doing this and did that stop the noise?

The dealer replaced my whole front axle. Said come pick it up, its fixed. I reproduced the noise in 3 seconds the next morning...awesome Techs! I've been enjoying my crooked steering wheel for the past couple weeks too...awesome Techs! Anyhow, Jeep heads to shop tomorrow for lift, gears, etc. Alignment will straighten out the wheel. But this noise seems to be here to stay...

Had this happen to me this weekend. Also, seems that it was hampering acceleration and had a burning rubber smell when I accelerated in 4L. Shifted to 2H for a few hundred feet and shifted back to 4L and both the sound and smell didn't return for the remainder of the trip. My only thought is that the FAD didn't make a complete connection of the two shafts. Kinda want to make the switch to a one piece axle, lol. This is the first time this happened after literally thousands of 4wd miles.

ETA- the ABS sounds more plausible than the FAD.

@JeepCares Please see this message from FrankieBee

I also have been waiting for my first scheduled maintenance to come up, which is when I will bring it to their attention. I agree with tgarvens, I think we all want to know what is making the noise or causing it.
Thanks for tagging us here, Pharmguy75. Unfortunately, our team is not comprised of trained technicians and therefore we are unable to diagnose or speculate on what could be causing this concern. That said, we suggest that you continue with your plan to bring the noise to the attention of the dealer and they will be able to pinpoint the exact cause. If you need our assistance while there, please reach out.

Kate, Is there a Jeep 'ninja' technician specialist somewhere that we can get our documented video recordings of the noise to? The random spattering of Jeep dealers we are all dealing with separately has not led to a root cause. Thank you, Tom

@JeepCares Kate,
as a professional jeep cares specialist what do you recommend for all of us that have brand new jeeps and for the jeeps on the lot unsold that are having major driving issues in 4low. Despite how many techs we take them to they say off the record "this isn't normal" yet on the record instructed by jeep corporate they say "this is normal" you then parrot that to us saying "there's nothing else we can do, we follow our techs advise". yet they are taking orders from jeep. so no solution is being provided. I love jeep and I appreciate what you do for us here Kate on the forum, however telling me blue isn't blue doesn't mean its not blue. There is HEAVY grinding in ALL of our jeeps and we are being told its normal. this is genuinely absurd. Please help those that spend 40-60k every 2-5 years with jeep and love jeep and wear the badge with honor.

Hi, Tom. The "ninja" technician would be at your Jeep dealership. We recommend that if you have documentation of any kind that you bring it to their attention to allow them a chance to decide a route for repair.

To clarify, Howardlv22, I am not a trained technician and therefore, I am unable to provide insight on any concerns technical or otherwise. We "parrot", as you say, what the dealer says because they are our eyes and ears in the field. They had a chance to review customer vehicles first hand and therefore have the best insight as to what is happening. I do apologize that I am unable to provide more here, but we must rely on our dealer teams.

With that said, my best advice is to seek out a dealer you trust and have them take a look at the concerns. Do know, all of these messages, comments and issues have been documented and are being taking seriously, so at this time, all we can do is have your dealer teams take a look. If need be, I can then escalate on a case by case basis to a specialist for further handling.

That’s what we are looking for here is a way to have this escalated further. There are no dealers I “trust” as every one says it’s normal on record but “not normal” off record. Like I said, i know what you personally can and can’t do and I’m grateful for your help, but we are at a loss for what to do. And my jeep case specialist said there’s nothing he can do beyond the tech. My tech at jeep told me it’s not normal but jeep says it’s normal so that’s what he has to say. Then on the paperwork he tried getting me to sign it says everything’s perfect. So it’s all covering itself up. What should we do? Jeep needs to be transparent about this

Hello Kate, I appreciate your response. I have began to record the sounds on my phone to show the dealership in the near future. I live in the San Fernando Valley, California, and I will most likely be taking my wrangler to the Rydel dealership in city of San Fernando, CA. That is where I custom ordered and purchased the vehicle.

To my knowledge, there are no immediate locations where my vehicle can be tested in 4 high, let alone 4 low. I may be incorrect about this and if there is anyone familiar with the area, I would greatly appreciate if you let me know where there is. That being said, how will the techs be able to reproduce the grinding sound that I am experiencing?

If I experience any difficulties with the dealership, is there a way to contact you or anyone at Jeep Cares immediately while I am still at Rydel? If such a situation would arise, I would like to have Jeep Cares, the dealership (including their tech), and myself all talk at the same time to get this issue resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

Thank you Kate. I truly appreciate your patience and help regarding this matter.

That is the same issue I had, the dealer could not repro the noise because there was not a bumpy enough road for them to exercise the jeep in 4L.
