2020 Rubicon, AEV 2.5” lift, Steersmarts front track bar, drag link and tie rod, new steel steering box, 38,000 miles.
I was driving home yesterday on a two lane highway with my wife and kids. There were steel drain gates on both the left lane and the right lane. I was going about 60-65. I went over one of the drain gates and felt a slight shift (more than normally expected). As soon as I hit the next one I immediately went into a death wobble. I’ve never experienced this before. My instant reaction Was I blew a tire out. Very, very quickly I realized what was happening as it seemed to increase in intensity rapidly. As I was slowing down gradually, trying to control the wheel so I don’t jump lanes (it was a packed highway), checking all my mirrors making sure no one was going to hit me, all I kept telling the family was , “Don’t worry. It’s okay.”
As I hit around 5-10 mph, it finally stopped and I kept going.
My wife was cool during it. My daughter almost freaked but held it together. And the best part was, my 8 year old son was sleeping and obviously woke up. After it was over, he started cracking up. He thought it was awesome. If I could of done it again, he would of been all for it
