Hydro Blue VS Chief Blue photos?

I’m getting ready to order my JL and am seriously debating both of these beautiful blues. I have yet to see them side by side. I know it’s personal choice, but has anyone owned both of them? Had anyone seen them together? What’s everyone’s favorite? Thanks for the help!

I do not believe chief blue is available anymore for order. You would have to find one on the lot.

I love the Hydro Blue. I have seen a few HB Gladiators and liked it much more than Chief. Chief is more of a light sky blue while hydro blue is the deeper rich blue that I want. There are a few chief jeeps on CarGurus and they look the same in person vs pics and then Hydro Blue Gladiator is how you can gauge the color. The configurator is not accurate at all so I was also confused till i saw the Gladiators in HB and compared it to the Jeep Chief. All about preference.

My current Jeep is a ‘16 JK Willys in Hydro Blue. It’s pearl coat and a much deeper tone than the Chief. Chief to me is just bright and shiny but rather one dimensional. No pizzazz. Depending on lighting the Hydro Blue is darker or lighter. Chief is always the bright blue.

The 21 JL Hydro Blue will be the same, and it’s on the gladiator. Same paint code too (PBJ). The production of the color in JLs starts “early February”, so they soon will be on the line and people will be moving out of the D/D1 status we’ve been hanging in. My estimated ship date is 2/17.

Which color do you prefer now that you’ve had both?

Honestly I love them both... but I think I prefer the Chief blue as its less metallic. Something about it that is just pleasing to the eye and looks great in all light... you also do not see it as much which is another bonus...where Hyrdro Pearl blue is showing up everywhere from the Compass to the Wrangler to the Ram 1500.
