3 - There is a 4gal larger fuel tank you can get as an option on the 3.6L but my dealer did not see it as an option for my 392 order I just did a few days ago which leads me to believe it will be standard on the 392 and wisely so.

392’s gas tank is not larger, it’s the same 21.5 gallons

Ah, I think you guys are right and that would explain why he couldn't add it.. In looking over the build site I don't see now where I saw that option, so must be as you said, just the gas in the tank... Thanks

I also get 14 city 18 highway in my completely stock 2021 3.6 JLUR and I drive like a geandma.

I get 11mpg with our 06 TJ and 33's... our 2019 JL (stock) is around 18mpg all around. (My Wife literally has a lead foot)...

Couple of thoughts here...

1- I think I read somewhere the 392 has a 4cyl cruise option which may improve mpg quite a bit on the road (assuming you are not passing everything out there) so perhaps they won't be all that bad.. but like others here, I don't really care, I want what I want and I want a V8... I already have a couple of EVs so can drive those to the store...

2- There is so much damn oil around the world now I don't see Oil prices going all that much higher any time soon... But Gas prices are going up, today they reflect unsustainable pricing for producers, most need north of 50 bucks a bbl to make it work... Now how much additional tax they put on it is anyone's guess...

There is no optional larger fuel tank on any model wrangler.

Yikes. I'm middle aged which explains why I don't understand why such a big engine is good in a Jeep. Get the EcoDeisel. Same torque which is really what is important on the trail .

Not for me with the goverment wanting a fuel tax and drilling being slowed, we will see $4.00 gas again in the next year or so, and GM going mostly electric in the next few years.

Exactly... which is why a used 392 going to take a beating in a few yrs. I experienced this in 09 not sure if people remember when it was 4.50 a gal. My 06 jeep srt8 literally went from 30k to 20k in months. Not even kidding. People are so quick to pull trigger when gas rises dramatically. Fortunately i waited it out and sold her for 27k about a 1/2 yr later

Naive question: Will the 392 see less of a percentage hit on MPG going to bigger tires than the 3.6 and 2.0 because those smaller engines are under more strain?

But with the high fuel prices , low MPG average and future CAFE standards could cause Jeep low, limited production. Which would increase value. Too bad none of us have a crystal ball but then we would know how much this beast is going to cost. The majority of us who have it on order are using it as a toy secondary vehicle, not as a primary daily driver. That’s what i have my Hellcat for LOL.

you may be correct but the vehicles you mentioned above you cant compare to a 392 plus they produce a ton more of those cars compared to low production #s the 392 will be built. The jeep v8‘s from the 70’s and 80’s have always had strong resale value.

Does the 392 come with 35’s? If it does then the mpg rating should be with 35’s and that’s not too bad. 35’s will put a good dent in any vehicles mpgs.

scratch that dumb comment. I looked it up and it comes with 33’s.
