I am in the same boat. I have the cargo mats sitting in my garage as my JL hasn't shown up yet.

However, what are we supposed to do regarding this?

Is there a MOPAR gap cover we have to purchase?
Ok, what am I missing? The Jeep Performance Parts Rear Cargo Mat goes up the back of the seats. Doesn't this act as a trench cover?

That is supposed to attach to the trench cover.
Got it. Thank you. That's Jeep for you. Eliminate half of your potential rear cargo mat sales due to saving a buck on a $40,000 vehicle. Haha

Oh no they did not eliminate half of the buyers. They will have another mat with a different part number available that also includes the trench cover for those that ordered cloth seats. $$$$$$

Wow, I really thought that the back seat would have laid down flatter than that. Looks like a dead body it under those mats. I guess there is no way to sleep in there.

My current car has this problem also. I built a little platform to even everything out. Just some cheap timber and board from a home improvement store and 30 minutes of time. Can like perfectly flat for camping now. Worth the effort if you're thinking about overnighting in your vehicle.

I figured they would have made it flatter since that was one of the major complaints of the JK. And the trench would have been covered since that was another issue especially for people with dogs.

Also I wouldn't run the rear cargo mat shown. That is hideous. I would run a Canvasback and then a regular cargo mat over it.

I wonder if you can just order the replacement part that is found in the leather ones?? You have to be able too. I wonder if there is anything else that would need to be ordered as well to attach it?

@JLWF Dealer Guy would you know??

Someone posted the part number in another thread: 6JX46TX7AB

If you plug it into Google, it does appear to be available for order. The cheapest I have seen is $115.

Has anyone installed this part on their Jeep yet? I’m curious to hear if there were any compatibility issues with cloth seats.

Wowwww $115 for the gap cover lol... definitely glad I got leather, though totally agree that it's ridiculous that the cloth seats don't come with it. I wonder if for $115 you get the bracket to attach the gap cover to as well, or if it's just for the cover...
