Spare Tires Shakes

Just raised my spare tire 4.5" with a Rough Country adapter so the parking sensors wouldn't catch my new rim which sticks about 3 inches more than stock and set of the alarm. Hit a pot hole and the spare had a nice shake. Anything on the market to hold the bottom of the spare more solid? Obviously the factory rubber stops are out of place now being too low. Still a stock 33" tire, just a new rim on a 2021 Rubicon.

Teraflex Alpha HD...Just check first with Teraflex to see if they have the modification done for the 2021's due to the 2021's new rear camera.

I added rubber leg stoppers that you would put on a chair. Like mentioned above. It works great for me. Under $10 fix.

Rubber chair stops & maybe pvc risers if you have a big enough gap. > > > rubber_stops

FWIW, the Smittybilt oversized spare adapter relocates the bump stops; they slide forward/backward about 1/2-inch, too.

This adapter is not the most advanced piece of engineering, but is pretty affordable. Got it for $172 from CJ Pony. That’s more than the Rough Country, but a lot less than the Teraflex.

Unfortunately the reinforcement plates that cover the hinges don't work for stopping the door / factory hinges from flexing. You will eventually break the door. After using the reinforcement plate and a relocation kit for a few months I ended up going installing a Rugged Ridge hinge and tire carrier. It stopped the flexing

That's a clean and simple solution. Most people wouldn't even notice.

I have a RC mount and used heavy duty hose to push against the spare, zero Issues

i saw quite a few complaints about the SB plate cracking.

Just go buy the Teraflex HD Alpha tire care. It allows you to adjust height and depth of the new tire and also relocates the rear view camera so it's back in the right spot. I have one and it's perfect and I can still use the stock OEM tirestops.

I second this.
Had the RC version (and figured it’s just a tire carrier, so what?). It lifted my 35” wayyy too high and pushed it out so the bump sticks wouldn’t make contact.

After a week, I ripped it off and went with the Teraflex HD. Love it. Can see out the back now that it’s lower, moving the brake light makes this even better, and it makes firm contact with the bump stops.

The SB tailgate reinforcement or the oversize tire adapter?

The SB adapter has barely any steel surface. I got a Mopar-like reinforcement made of aluminum. Seems pretty sturdy.
