Will a roof top tent fit on the short version of the Maximus 3 roof rack?

You are in luck I actually removed mine today and took a couple of pictures!

So I initially used the hardware that came with the smittybilt tent and it was a PITA. So my dad helped me make new mounting hardware. I bought some inch square tubing to start with to be what the tent attaches to. Shown in the photos below. To attach the tent to the square tubing we used rivnuts in the square tubing. So we drilled new holes in the tent and put a bolt through the tent to screw into the rivnuts in the tubing. We used rivnuts in the tubing so the bottom of the tubing would be flat on the bottom so it would lay flat on the rack and it wouldn’t scratch the top of my rack. To attach the tubing/tent to the rack my dad welded a piece of flat bar to a bolt (like a t bolt) that slides in the slots in the rack (I forgot to take a picture or what we made but I included an example t bolt for reference). But I attached pictures of how we drilled holes on the ends of the tubing to be able to run the bolt through to secure it to the rack. Hopefully that makes sense and helps haha. Great setup with the garage lift! I was definitely thinking about some bolts like that to slide into the channels on the pioneer platform. Thanks for the info!

100% will fit. But I will 100% recommend the long platform!. I keep my shovel and a couple Offroad lights on the extra space. I have a full roam RTT on my setup

Too late!! HAHA. I was torn on the long and short platform, but really wanted to be able to use the sunrider top and the short rack lets me do that. Nice Rig!!!

It’s attached with the front runner quick disconnects. With three guys I can pull the tent off in like 60 seconds. It’s heavy and high, but if I had a garage tall enough, it’s a one person job with a lift and I could cut the time in half.

Tent is a RoofNest condor. It did need to be modified slightly but it’s worth it.

Condor is really nice. Build quality is great.

If you want a short rack tent, it’s what I would recommend hands down.

I do wish that they made the upper half completely flat, because I could fit more solar up there. Currently I run a 110W Sunpower panel, but if it were flat I could easily fit 200W.
