I don't know that anyone has pitchforks at the ready... but I can 100% understand buyer's remorse &/or lemon concerns on a vehicle that leaves one stranded on the vary day they sign paperwork & accept delivery.....With regard to all of the talk about lemon laws, wouldn't it be more prudent to wait for the diagnosis before gathering up the torches and pitchforks? I'm interested to hear what was actually wrong with the OP's Jeep, but I'd stop short of declaring it unrepairable given what is known now.
On that point, what IS known now? We're all curious.
All of that said, vehicle breakdowns, especially far from home, are a bitch.
That was me getting picked up by a non-FCA-approved wrecker in order to get to somewhere with a phone (I had zero cell phone signal) and out of the cold. In hindsight, should have just had them drag it the 18 miles to the closest dealer (except I had no clue where that was yet!).Did that Jeep get picked up before the pick-up was canceled?
And I hope yours keeps running like a top! Glad to hear you had a chance to get some dirt on the tires!FWIW, I have been driving my JLU Willys for 6+ weeks without any major issues, & took it off-roading this past weekend.. performance was flawless. So hopefully, they can diagnose and fix your issue, and it be a "one & done" kinda thing. I 100% understand your frustration though.. as someone else mentioned, you are far more calm than I would be.
If you haven't already, look up the lemon laws in GA & read through them yourself...I believe it's either 20 or 30 days cumulatively over a period of 12 months under warranty. Document everything, of course.
Yeah, to be honest, everything up to that, the guy was great. Kept me updated on the Jeep as it was being built, very friendly, etc. But seemed like as soon as he got my cash, I wasn't his problem anymore. I'll likely refer them for the pricing (got it 6% under invoice) but always with the caveat "ain't there when the SHTF."What a crappy salesperson you had! He/She could have handled it so much better. I just can't believe they are not smart enough to figure out that their reputation is on the line as well and that this will hurt their referrals. I still get ticked off when I go to a dealership and know more about the vehicles than the person that works there and is supposed to be the expert.
Following the thread to find as well. You have every right to be upset and will unfortunately probably have to get a bit grumpy to get a quicker resolution.
True. Might just be reading tea leaves but to have that sort of event so soon in a vehicle's (preferably long) life, does not bode warm fuzzies for me.With regard to all of the talk about lemon laws, wouldn't it be more prudent to wait for the diagnosis before gathering up the torches and pitchforks? I'll cross my fingers on an easy fix, but I'd be lying if I said I I'd 100% trust the Jeep right away (especially when @Fsttanks 's dealer told him "yep, you're fixed" just to have the Jeep go haywire the next day...)My guess on this: something really simple....... like loose fuses...... is the culprit.
totally disgraceful that FCA’s quality is crap. But, it is.
Looks like that only applies to in-home/door-to-door sales. Also, since I bought the Jeep in GA, I'd say GA law would apply anyway.Tennessee has a 3 day right of recension I believe?
Thanks, Darlene. Message responded to now.@RagTopDeluxe - Thank you for tagging us!
@tankers - We have responded to your private message regarding this asking for a few vehicle details. We would like to have a case escalated to a specialist for assistance as soon as possible.

Jeep Cares
I must say that the folks at JeepCares certainly seem to be totally terrific. These folks are at the nexus pain: 1) FCA says they care about customers and quality (but don’t), 2) many dealers who don’t even bother to say they care (and don’t care), 3) and a customer who just wants a working Jeep that they paid good money for. And, given all of this, JeepCares only has “so much” authority to actually make stuff happen.@RagTopDeluxe - Thank you for tagging us!

You must have bought a Jeep...Whelp, that didn't last long.

I think Darlene at JeepCares escalated this for me since I got a call from Mike MacDonald at FCA corporate office in Warren, MI last night to talk with me about what was going on.I must say that the folks at JeepCares certainly seem to be totally terrific. folks at JeepCares: you do a great job in a role that I simply couldn’t do. Thank you for doing your best every day in support of customers despite the C-Suite at FCA not caring enough about quality to do anything about it year after year after year.
Ah, sorry for the confusion here. Yep, I live in Knox County, TN but I bought the Jeep from a dealer in GA. All my local dealers wanted to play games and not give me the right price (or even a price without me coming in), but the dealer in GA right away said "here's your price". Needless to say, that won my business enough to make the 4-hour trek to that GA dealer.Sorry, thought you lived in Knox county TN. I think your profile said that?
