Welp. That settles it. I’m for sure buying a Warn lol
Yep I should have just bit the bullet once. Although I like the stealth, I've lost all confidence in it now that it will be there when I need it again.

I agree. I can deal with a recall but when the manufacturer refuses to respond to e-mails I no longer trust them. I tried the customer service chat today. He said he is "not qualified to talk about the recall and that I need to e-mail the recall team". I told him that I have emailed them several times over the last two weeks and he said "yeah they are very busy".

I'm just going to install a $5.00 battery cutoff switch in series with the positive cable and forget about it.

I would too but my wireless function also does not work.
Hmm, I have only used my wired remote. Guess I had better go out and check if it ever gets above 0 C here in the Pine Tree State

Yeah definitely check it out. That's how I initially found out there was a recall on the winch. Apparently the cpu in the winch's that are affected also have an issue with the wireless receiver also.

If you do could you please post some photos and directions on this thread? Thanks

Same here I haven't tried the wireless remote yet.

Yep I see that. I bought mine back in April, but don't feel like dropping another $650 on a winch unless I get compensated to return this fiasco. Lol

Could you simply unhook the positive wire going from winch to battery?
Dat's what I immediately did after having visions of the winch unspooling the wire rope as I unknowingly drove down the freeway.
