Awesome and great timing. I'll be in southern Utah at the end of next week... might need to add this to the trip!

If you don't already have it, check out "Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails" by Charles Wells. In the newest, 3rd edition, Area 1 has Crystal Geyser and other trails NW of Moab. Area 6 (new) has San Rafael Swell trails, including Reds Canyon and Swasey Cabin trails.Awesome and great timing. Shortly after we took delivery it went to my detailer for a day and got the full treatment including a 5-year ceramic coating. I was a little skeptical, but it now collects less dirt and it usually just takes a few minutes with the pressure washer and everything rinses right off.Awesome report! Great pics... which beg the question. How is your Jeep so clean?
Great adventure and pictures. I can see that you are glowing from the trip ... or it that the uranium. The Grand Canyon had a large uranium mine also.We took a quick weekend trip down south last weekend to explore some of the areas north and west of Moab we usually drive past but say "we should check that out sometime."
We spent Saturday on the east side of the Green River. On the south end of town is the abandoned Green River Launch Complex. Missiles were tested here in the 60s and 70s. The three launch pads are still there, and one has the large movable housing/building mostly intact. Artifacts from the testing scattered over hundreds of acres out there.
From there we went south into the sand dunes, washes, and mesas west of the airport.
Sunday we headed to the San Rafael Swell on the west side of the Green River. All sorts of abandoned uranium mines cut into the mesas. Some fun slot canyons to play in as well.
495 miles total. 290 paved; 205 gravel, rock crawling, sand dunes, washes, and more. Averaged 22.5 mpg in the ecodiesel JLUR. Wife, dog, gear, and me probably added 500 lbs to the weight. Lots of starting, stopping, idling, and then some good hooning.
Moon Rise!

We were up in the mountains behind the house last week in snow and mud but probably less than half of what would've been on the old Jeep was there when we got home.
I don't have a "before" other than a clean white Jeep, but we had a nice, muddy tour in the Southern Wasatch today. Big old gobs getting roosted by the tires many times. Some clay, some loam. Here is the "after."Interesting. No side by side withstanding, I think I can say I see positive results.
