Just cut my factory antenna to 18”. I do this to every vehicle I get. I’ll paint this one black when I get some paint but for now it works.

I just pop the ball off the end, cut it where I want and then grind down the thicker new end until I’m able to mount the little ball back on for a stock look.

Here’s a before during and after pics. Not bad for free.

I did the same thing, then wrapped the antenna in black shrink wrap. And painted the ball. It still looks solid after one year. No fading or anything. If it ever does fade, I will just do it again.

SPAS/ D-rings with Loctite.
I was at this decision just a few days ago...

Instead of loctite I actually used grease - but then a screwdriver (something I always carry in my Jeep) To crank them shut so you'll still need a ton of power to get them off... I have bad history of things rusting/corroding together on me :CWL:

I already did the front, now I am doing the back fenders also. I used self tapping bolts for the front inter fenders, but I will redo them with the nutserts now.
Just a heads up. The nutcerts won't slip right into the holes in the body. They recommend using a drill bit to clear the paint layer that tightened the holes. I didn't want to risk removing any aluminum and lose any holding strength. So, I loaded the nutcert onto the tool, and wiggle jiggled the nutcert into place. Worked without a hitch, and got good repeatable swedges.

Care to share the link to that specific tool - I know there are many options on Amazon. I'll be doing the AAL inners, most likely not until spring/summer but getting the tool now won't hurt!

Replaced my brakes and rotors with the PowerStop Z36 kit. Pads were toast and my front rotors seem to keep warping, so it was cheaper to slap these on instead of having a shop machine them all. Of course, I now have to wonder if Discount Tire torquing half my fucking lug nuts well beyond 130ft/lbs. had anything to do with it.

And while I had the front wheels off, I replaced a damaged boot on my Steersmarts drag link.

These same rattles have been bugging me lately thanks for sharing your fix.
The alpine system sounds so much better now since I can actually turn up the bass a little without the rattling from the rear sub. Also The slight rattling/buzzing from the overhead speakers are now gone so I can turn up the music more. The alpine actually does have a good amount of "bump" for a factory system as long as the hard top is on.

Daddy got an air locker for the rear. Really enjoying having 35 spline rear axles now.

shoutout to Tony at Innovative JK products for creating a solution to work with my ARB twin and the air up/down system. Highly recommend their products.

Nice..like the idea of the rust protection of grease... Same thought process.., if they have tools and strength, take-em..., just trying to prevent the a-hole walking by, and thinking they have a fifteen second Craigslist inventory item... May crack them off and coat them in some grease... Good call...

Looks great. How did you hook up the light?

Did a butcher job last night splicing into the rear cargo 12v (cigarette lighter)😳 It was pitch black, didn’t have the right wire connectors or solder and needed to help my kids get ready for bed. I didn’t want to leave it unfinished due to my ocd knowing it will be two weeks before I have any time to work on it again. So I literally cut the wires and tied into them using wire nuts. Had to add a piece of extra wire. Did a make shift piggy back. I made sure they were nice and tight and taped them good. They’re not going anywhere but I should go back in there and properly splice everything together. You just run the wire under the rubber strip along where the door meets the rear and behind the rear interior quarter panel. The fuse is placed so that it turns on when you turn the ignition to accessory. If you move the fuse over to the next spot, it will always be hot.
The table is solid and the light is really bright. I still have to play with latch to make it a little easier to open.
