Can anybody recommend a decent toolkit of Torx sockets ? (prefer a UK shop rather than internet order - e.g. Halfords, ToolStation, ScrewFix, etc)
I've got plenty of normal sockets and spanners, wrenches, etc.
But none of my previous vehicles have needed Torx fitting tools.

Surely you have a local hardware or home improvement store with a toll section. You can buy sockets that fit a standard socket wrench, individual bits for bit drivers or dedicated T handle drivers.

You are right, but there are a lot of options out there. From the on-line reviews, it appears that some tools have the breaking strain of a chocolate bar.

I was just trying to get some local opinion without using a lot of shoe leather walking round the shops. And with Covid, it's a real pain - mask on, mask off, mask on, mask off, etc ...

Its in the boot or the sidewalk as our friends call it :flag:

No outdoor markets/car boot sales around you? When I was stationed in England the wife and I used to love going to them. What we call 'flea markets' in the states, is a great place to find some good used tools, and sometimes new, for cheap.

Another option are these from Halfords.

Not generally a fan of Halfords tools but I do have their 200 piece Advanced set. All the Advanced range comes with a lifetime warranty. It's certainly better quality than the cheapo range. I managed to break a 1/4" drive extension from my set due to seriously overloading it :swear: . Just took the broken one into our local store and they handed me a brad new one without even asking to see the original purchase receipt.

When I am in the UK ( Farnham, Surrey) I go to either Tool Station or Screwfix. They both have a good selection of tools.

My jeeps came with the ratcheting kit. Rather nice.

OP, it looks like you already found a set of tools.

For future reference, Tekton makes great stuff (US made or sometimes Taiwan) and Tekton is available for sale in the UK, I think. I don’t know what shops would carry the brand however. But, in your travels, if you do come across the brand, know that it is solid stuff.
