Hiw have you enjoyed the ride? I guess all tires are pretty good the first 5-10k miles, but what are your thoughts so far?Ive had the MXTs for a few months now.
Too early to tell. But no issues so far. I have a hard time being bugged by the sound of Mud tires, so I been good with themHiw have you enjoyed the ride? I guess all tires are pretty good the first 5-10k miles, but what are your thoughts so far?
In case anyone is still wondering. I just installed a 37X13.5X17 Discoverer STT Pros on my stock JLUR on stock wheels and stock suspension with no lift and they work fine for daily driving. All i did was install wheels spacers and they work fine no rubbing on full turns. I have to say though that i have not gone off road, but i think for light off roading it will work. it really looks good and im liking the low profile aggressive stance. i have ordered a lift but im thinking of running the way it is setup first and see how it works before installing the lift.
Just a data point, When I bought my Maxxis Creepy's I called the engineers at Maxxis, "due to the light weight of the JL, they recommend 22-25 PSI max on a 37x12.5x17" for either rim types (locked or not). So that is what i do for the highway. No issues, bed lock or not, when hit deep snow, I run 5 psi (no bulge), rocks i run at 8psi, so it really depends on the tire.. You would not get away with these pressures with a BFG or Pats.. Maxxis have a 1" bead pack and side wall.Say what you want to me I don't care 25 psi on that narrow of a wheel on that wide of a tire wow. Lot of people would never do it there's more people not doing then doing it I can assure you that. lots of people like the stock wheel including myself why do you think so many people just about everyone goes and buys new wheels. Because they hate the stock wheel NO. Or maybe it's not worth the risk say what you want butbut ther not too many people doing it for a reason. But 25 psi I don't run that on a E rated tire if you're running a D
Many people on here don't understand this. 12.5 on an 7.5"wide rim will actually act as a poor man's beadlock. I have run my 37" 12.5" patts at 10psi with no issues.Do people not understand that too big a rim is far more failure prone than a smaller rim?
Ours rubbed on the sway bar with 37's, 1.5" spacers fixed that.I've been running around with 37x12.50R17 Yokohama M/T G003s. They are rubbing something while turning but I haven't looked to see what it's hitting. It's my wife's DD and it's dark now when she gets home.
I'm considering adding 1.25" spacers from Bora, the plan is to rock crawl on the weekend like I did for many years in my TJ.
Have you adjusted your steering stops yet? You’ll need to find a place to cycle the suspension to the bump stops and turn the wheels left to right and adjust the steering stops to where they need to be. It won’t be much but it will rub until it is adjusted. Unless you like the look, there is zero reason to run spacers.I've been running around with 37x12.50R17 Yokohama M/T G003s. We have the same need for articulation here as you would imagine. I don’t have any rubbing anymore. I removed my rear bumper and heated up and reformed the plastic on the inner fender well, behind the tire. Not much at all. That’s the only rubbing I experienced. The front is all taken care of with steering stops. Heres a couple pics of mine with the adjustment. A couple are with my 4 door. Same setup. No I haven’t adjusted them yet.
The trails around here require a lot of articulation, are you have any rubbing issues other than steering.
I adjusted my steering stops on my 2006 TJ Rubicon. I was using the stock Rubicon wheels, 1.25” spacers and still needed to limit turning.
I’m and old school fan of stock Rubicon wheels with larger tires
Yeah without an aftermarket bumper you will rub...I have an Arcus and stock wheels with no spacers on 37/12.5/17 KM2s and just adjusted my steering stops a few turns and it’s perfect...save the ball joints some pressureMany people on here don't understand this. 12.5 on an 7.5"wide rim will actually act as a poor man's beadlock. You will most def need spacers. I added spydertrax 1.75 spacers and I still rub at articulation when offroading.
