My side view mirrors are starting to look a bit beat up from quite a bit of brush damage. Is there any compound/formula that can be used to get scratches out of the plastic?

Thank you

You could have them vinyl wrapped. Would not cost much for such a small job.

Maybe a very fine grit or wet sandpaper? I used some fine grit to smooth out some gouges I made on some of the plastic parts of the MOPAR steel front bumper. Worked fine.

Are there aftermarket mirror covers? I’ve seen them on JKs but not JLs. That would be another option.

The whole mirror assembly cost like a hundred buck, just buy two or three as backups, and keep banging them!

Did you find a solution? I am definitely needing to do some repair work as well.

I got hit by shopping cart on plastic bumper. Did my research and tried compounds and back to black... but saw and read about heat gun. yes it works. Also removes oxidation.

How does the heat gun method work? Literally just heat it up and then? Thank you!

All I know is I watched several videos, and guess it melts the scratches back down a smooth state, take your time and keep moving the gun back and forth and up and down

Take them off, drop them off at the LineX dealer and have them spray them when they get a chance. They should cut a deal since their spray gun will already be loaded. Just make sure they tape off the area where the pivot point is.
