My Audi TDI's never did this.....
Every diesel I have ever owned or ever knew about blackens the oil within a few hundred miles. Soot generation is what causes it and modern diesels with EGR do it even faster, it cannot be helped and is the nature of the beast with a diesel.

My RV's diesel oil is always INK black. I change 12 quarts every 4,000 on my heavily emissioned '12 Cummins 6.7. Mine now has 64,000 and 1440 hours which works out approx. 130 hours per oil change. At 12 MPG, it's burned approx. 5000 plus gallons of diesel. It weighs 11,000 lbs. , rolls ups steepest interstate grades @ 60 mph towing my JLR. It is a beast, economical it isn't. Dealer has a long block 6.7 on floor in parts department, $18K.
