Packed up the jeep and headed out rough tenting again with the Mis'....
Headed out to a spot we like going to... out Sussex way, in the middle of the woods.
Got there and set up camp.... wow was it ever hot!
We went to the small brook to cool off. Moved rocks out of the stream to make a sitting hole deep enough to cool off in.... did the trick! Say in the brook and watched the little fishies swim around. We love how quiet it is out there.... relaxing.
We made a fire and called it a night.....
The next morning, for up early and it was well in the high 90's by 0830.... so off to the brook we went.... spent the day at the camp but we did go for a hike.... lol... we even spooked a deer!!! And he spooked us also... I'm sure all of us had the same feeling of surprise at that moment.
For being in the middle of the woods, that day, there sure was a lot of traffic .... four wheelers, side by side, even a jeep!!! But the best one was a Honda civic, we couldn't believe it!!! This place needs a 4x4 to get to! Large rocks and uneven roads, narrow trails....He was walking ahead of her, clearing the path of large rocks... they were looking for some falls and the GPS brought them there.... all they wanted at that time was to get to a main road to get home...you can just imagine the look on their faces when i said they were about halfway.... they decided to turn around.... she was NONE too impressed!
We finished off the day by the fire and headed in for an exciting game of cards...I lost!
On Sunday, we packed up to go home... scenic route!
We stayed on the trails, found old communities and cemeteries...
Late 1800's
Cemetery number 2
had to follow a small trail in... it was sad how this Cemetery has become forgotten and abandoned to be overtaken by nature....
Old cast iron markers... never seen those before
and eventually made our way home....and it rained!!!! But, we had a roof.. no doors but a roof... worked out ok...
I'm proud to say we left minimal footprint behind... left the place cleaner than we found out... picked up other people's trash and disposed of it appropriately...
Can't wait for the next one!!!!

two things:
1) this looks a WHOLE LOT WARMER than your original posts and
2) a freaking Honda civic? Stupid is as stupid does.
Sound like a lovely adventure
Not sure... it looked like you said, well taken care of... it may still be an active parish....Thanks for taking us with you. Your cemetery is listed on the internet. The church looks well kept; is it still in use?
Stupid is as stupid does.Yep... when they first came down, the Honda civic people, they seemed to be trying to make the best of it.... at least he was by having a brew or two... but unfortunately, we had to clean up after them the next day as we picked up their empties on our way out....
for Christ sake... they could have cleaned up after themselves...
