Hey all,
I'm considering a 2.5 MC lift with 35s on my Sport. I'm getting a little nervous since I only have the 35/30 axles. I do like to run some nice trails so it will be put to the test.
Anyone with experience running a similar set-up on tough trails?
I know, I should have got a Rubicon but it was tough enough to get the wife onboard with the payment I have...

Not going larger than 35's is usually recommended for the Dana 30/35 combo. Going larger is what really heightens the damage risk. The Metalcloak 2.5" lift and 35's will definitely be a great choice to bring any wrangler to the next level of capability.

Be sure to post some] before and after pics. We certainly live our Jeep porn!

Appreciate the feedback.
I've already put down my payment for the install. Getting onboard air and a Mopar switch installed as well. I still need to "sleep on it" concerning new wheels and 35s.

Thanks man, I'll check them out.
My install guy just posted a shredded D35 diff and now I'm nervous.

This is good to hear real life feed back on these axles. I stressed over those axles before going to D44s (for free :) ) especially since the official word from someone at Dana/Spycer said Mall Crawling OK with 30/35 and 35s but only lite trails.
+2 to what @TEXGOAT said.

That is what I've heard. Thanks.

White JLU Sport with 35” tires and 17” wheels. Lift is mopar 2”. Plenty of people on this forum will vouch for this setup. Know the limitations and proper operation of your vehicle and you won’t come near breaking points.

The limitations are what is in question actually. From what I hear, mild off-road use is the limit.
"Mild" is pretty subjective.
Like in the posted video, it may have held up but the splines were pretty twisted. They may have pushed it but it's still a bit disheartening to see the results.

Oh yea, theres no doubt that if you continually push them like mine you are eventually gonna have a major failure of some sort. I think even with high end axle shafts eventually the amount of torque we subject these things to will eventually fatigue the tubes or housing will fail. Im still running stock shafts, im betting they are all twisted up like the ones in that video, maybe not quite as bad yet. Maybe ill disect them when i put my new axles on, if they haven't spilled their guts already.

Kevin, your rig looks great!

A few questions for you, for my own edification. Are your wheels the stock Sport 17x7.5, and if not, what are they? Are you using a spare tire relocation bracket, and if so, which one? Also, how is your tailgate holding up (it doesn’t look reinforced)?
