Sooooo what’s new? I checked on the other ram forums but I didn’t find anything. Unfortunately I didn’t clock the “what’s new“ button when the update finished. Is there a changelog anywhere?

I posted a picture of the what’s new screen. Tons of detail there! ;)

And still no change log that I’ve found...

ohhh I see. I landed on page 2 of this thread. well, let’s see. Between this and the uconnect app for iPhone it seems That they gave software development contracts to someone That cares very little for user input

So I did some testing.....

My 8.4 is on the 18.33.24 release.

On the Uconnect portal it says I am up to date.

If I go to the dealer and ask them they say I am up to date - as they check the same place.

But we know it is not up to date.... 18.33.24 is at least 18 months old; with 3 or 4 releases since.

So I went online and found many VIN's at local dealerships for 2018/2019/2020 and put these in the update checker. They all came back no upgrade needed.

I then tested with other Jeep models like a GC, etc, and same deal - no upgrade needed.

So my theory is that the 2018+ Wranglers, at least with a 8.4, only do OTA upgrades and checking the portal will never show you an update as they are not published that way.

Questions:

1) Have any of you ever had the uconnect portal tell you your 2018+ needed an upgrade and let you download it? If yes what version and what screen size.

2) Does anyone have the "files" required to update or know where to get them?

3) Does anyone know how to force an OTA upgrade?

@LanceM based on the other forum it looks like I need to go in to get the latest version of Uconnect. I’m at 18.33. Do you know of any other way to do it (USB) or to force an OTA?

you and I are in the same boat. I’ve checked a couple of times on the update checker ( I have a 2019) and Nada. Based on everything I’m reading and seeing, the update checker is basically something designed and developed for people to feel like they have an answer so that FCA stops getting calls about it.

I believe we have 2 chances at this. The first and most remote one is to have someone at a dealership provide the files, as they have to do the same exact process with a USB key as we do. This is highly unlikely to happen though.

2nd chance is to go to the dealership and keep pushing them to do the update. I doubt we will ever get our hands on the file, but they would do the update for us. What we are missing is the ?TSP?document that we could point to that provides all the information for them to do the update. This is the key piece of the missing puzzle. Anyone at a dealership willing to invest some time to help us find that doc?

Our JL (12-19 build) with the 8.4 Nav just did the update a couple of days ago; it took about 30-40 minutes to update. I did not check the "what's new" at the end because I just wanted to get on to something else.

Do you still have the install files - or did you do it OTA?
