Yes these are stock Sahara wheels. I have no idea what the width is. but the tires fit fine. I've seen others with the same wheels and tires on this forum, which inspired me to go for it.

Darn, the 275s are really a 32" so I was hoping they would fare better better without a re-gear than the 33s. I wish there was an option for 3:73s.

They obviously did the math too, and are luring people to Rubicon, or atleast us lazy guys

Does anyone know if the 275/70/r17 do better with the gearing?

Well I'm looking at the new Toyo Open Country AT3 in LT275-65-18 Load C for my Sahara. Keeps stock diameter, just widens and beefs it out a bit. I have the 6sp, so hopefully these don't F things up too much, yes better gearing would be nice but I'm not getting into that. They are 8-10 LBS more than the stock duelers

Thanks. Let me know how that goes. Mike is a daily driver and I do no off roading. I would like just a bit of a wider stance so I may be going with the Quadratech Recons. I don’t want to lose the stock look and want to make sure the ride stays the same and gear shifts are correct especially on highway. I have a Sahara and stock is 255/70/r18. When comparing the 275/70/r17, they are the exact height but a little wider. I was hoping it didn’t mess with the gears and the MPH. It doesn’t look like the mph affected too much. Here’s a comparison.

I put 33” on my stock rims, works great, drives great. 275/70-18.

hey there! How does it drive on the highway? I’ve heard a lot of 7th / 8th gear hunting even in a small hill or mild head wind. What are your thoughts? I’m willing to adjust a bit of course, But don’t want to lose a gear at 70mph. Speedo issues are not a concern. I may gee a Tazer Mini to calibrate.

After the new tires, 33", it looked like the millage was going to drop about 3 mpg. After several months of driving, I would say more like a 1 mpg drop. We do very little highway travel so that might make a difference. I did not regear and the trans will switch back and forth from 7 to 8. No problem at all and the only way I know is the change in RPM's. Again, very little impact on mpg. I really like the wider tires for overall ride and definitely the look!

Read a bunch of things about wheels and tires. I know the tire size I want, but ultimately my state inspection rules won't let me run a 20x9 +0 offset. In talking to a few local jeepers last night, if I want to run that wheel in this state, I need to keep my stock wheels for inspections (5 years from now, every 2 years thereafter).

Long story short, they will measure your tire and if it's 1.25" from the fender, you will fail instantly, no ifs ands or buts.

It royally sucks to be honest, but I'll start looking at stuff with a +25 offset now.

I have 17x8.5 +12mm with 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and I would say the tires stick out past the fenders about 1.25". Could be a bit more.

Like you said, maybe get the wheel and tire you want and then swap out to factory tires when you get inspected. This wheel tire thing is very important to use jeepers! You want to make sure your jeep looks good to you!

Does adding muflaps help? Here in Ontario, they never give us issues with tires sticking out but if it does, just ensure the mudflap covers the entire width of the rear tire.

honestly, I don't know. I know the inspectors in this state are miserable pricks. Failing people for 1/4" outside state mandates is just nitpicky at best.
