My wife and I are ok. Minor injuries it’s seems so far. Wondering though, should my passenger airbag gone off? I was driving and mine did.

We were going straight westbound and the other car was going eastbound and turned in front of us. I swerved to try to avoid but they hit my back end flipping us a couple of times.

btw the windshield didn’t crack.

Glad you guys are ok.

Thanks for posting the photos. Better get those airbags checked. Maybe the seat didn't register someone sitting?

I think I'd report the failure of the bag to deploy to NHTSA

That JL is totaled, not necessary to worry about it's airbags.

I hope you’re right. Just hope there isn’t an airbag problem in case others truly needed them.
@Mudawg10

I'm right, that JL is totaled. Glad you two are ok.

Encourage you to talk little if at all on this public forum about your accident. Could come back to haunt you if you do.

Start gathering up ALL your original receipts for any and all add ons. Adjuster will want copies of same.

Very specific things have to happen for airbags to deploy. You would be surprised at the amount of accidents where airbags do not deploy. They can cause more harm if activated when they shouldn't be. In my 17 years as a paramedic I have seen horrific looking wrecks where people were not seriously injured and airbags did not deploy.

Glad you’re alright.

Both airbags didn’t deploy because they’re not designed to deploy except in frontal or partial frontal crashes, not when the vehicle is struck from the rear. Driver side may have deployed due to the secondary collisions the vehicle was subjected to (when you rolled).

It is funny how a crash and rollover doesn’t crack the windshield but a piece of pea gravel will.

Second. Glad you are not feeling any ill effects at the moment. You should go get checked out. Symptoms can start anytime up to 72 hours or later after an accident.
