Rubicon 37s no lift

Yeah, I don't rub either unless I have passengers. But when its full with the wife and kids, I'm rubbing a ton. Yep, I'm waiting until I can afford a MC lift. I could pay for a cheap spacer lift now, but I don't want to compromise!

My 3.5 Gamechanger actually made my 37s rub..... The weight of it in the back of the Jeep made the back tires rub going around a couple corners. Ha

Just put on 37” ko2 no rubbing on street loaded with two adults and two kids <10. You definitely need a spare relocation bracket though.

How does it ride? This is what I plan on doing prior to the lift. I won't offroad it for another year until after I pay it off and get into another vehicle as my daily. I'll do a lift later on.

I am no expert, but the ride seems as good as stock with this setup. Albeit, my JLUR is a manual so I have better control of the transmission while heading up the mountains, so I don't notice any loss in power.

I have done a few of the easier trails in the area (west Denver) with almost zero rubbing. But when it does happen I just look at the wife and smile, because she knows that means I'll be getting the lift sooner rather than later!

Normal driving...do you get any rubbing? For instance, when you pull into a driveway that has any sort of slope, do the tires rub at all?

I'm doing the same tires just different wheels so the overall diameter will be the same, but the offset of the wheels may be different.

No, I’ve only rubbed once on the road. It was in a pretty sloped 8’ “u” shaped entry way to a complex.

Personally, my driveway is just about a 10 degree incline and I haven’t rubbed in 4 months with this setup.

@Bkenyon53 be advised that @JoepCO is riding on BFG KO2s, which are know to be rather smaller in diameter than most 37s. For me, I've been on Nitto Ridge Grapplers (37 - 12.50R20s) and no lift for almost a year now. Those tires are damn near a legit 37" tall and I am very often rubbing whenever I have more than my wife and I in the rig, especially on the road when you hit a dip. Its also worse when backing out of a driveway for some reason. I've rubbed enough that the tires have burned a hole right through the rear inner fender well at the offending spot. Now mind you this is just plastic, and some have either completely removed that bit, or have taken a heat gun to that area and recontoured it, but I haven't done either of those things.

Anyway, point is that result will vary, depending on the brand of tire, road conditions, as well as your own willingness to mod your inner fender well, or just live with it.

To be honest though, I have in part left my inner fender well intact as a constant reminder to my wife that we need a lift!! She hates that scraping sound and I am always toting 2 or 3 of our 4 kids around a bunch, so there is plenty of opportunity for her to hear it. Indeed, it looks like I will finally be getting my 2.5" Metalcloak Gamechangers here in the next few weeks! I can't wait! I would not consider 37s with no lift a legit option long term without modifications.

so is anyone else thinking of making this a long term solution? it looks like these will rub offroad...

i've removed the inner fenders front and rear. need to flex it out and see how much trimming is needed in the rear. the front looks like it might ride as is.

anyone tried to wheel on 37s and stock height??

My lift was supposed to show up today but shipping got delayed. Wheels and tires came in and I figured I'd test it out. 37x12.50 BFG KM3s on Method 702s. Put about 40 miles on it and no rubbing. Definitely won't be taking it offroad until the lift is on.

I am running 35s and MR702's, I rub in the rear when disconnected and fully flexed out. Not bad, but a touch. I think tire sidewall design makes a huge difference. My Ko2 35s were fine, the Ridge Grapplers rub. Per Specs those tires Are both pretty even, but RG has a bigger sidewall lug.

Glad to see this. I just got my K5s mounted to my 37s and waiting on the lift to arrive! Guess ill toss them on the Jeep till it comes in. Love the look of the K5s. Haven't seen many Jeeps running them.
