Bare with me guys I'm still figuring out the quoting system,
How hard was the install and where did you get them? Thanks!
Where did you get the windshield protector?
The install was pretty simple obviously clean the windshield real well, apply a small logo sticker think it helps remove final layer, spray the included application solution on the windshield, peel off the backing which has an adhesive on it try not to touch it and spray the side that's being applied to the windshield. It slides around on the solution to get the proper placement then use the included squeegee to get the solution out as much as possible from the middle out.

The brand is Racing Optics, I'm currently in talks with a rep to see if I can get the forum some sort of discount code. I'll update shortly

Lots of options if you search these terms on Amazon and read some reviews...

I’ve got two questions that someone can hopefully help me out with:

1. Are the new inserts supposed to be plastic?
2. Is there a secret to getting the old ones out?

I have the same question about the old inserts myself. Those in my 2020 aren’t budging.

You will have to careful drill the lip off the old metal ones being very careful not to damage the hinge and paint. Once you have removed the top lip you can drive the old metal ones out from the top.

Yes they are plastic.

Use loctite I have already lost one of the threaded metal ends somewhere between Moab and Phoenix

@brain i found an easier solution.

insert the tool on the top and smack it a few times to get it loose.

then flip to the bottom and it should come loose and push it out the top.

hope that helps.
I’ll give that a try. Mine came with no instructions or suggestions. Oddly, after I went back to the Amazon page it actually shows a pair of pliers being used on the bottom but I have no clue how or why.

A couple I had to just smash from the top. Took about ten minutes. It seems like there was a lip on the top and bottom of the insert. May need to touch up the paint on the bottom?
