Ordered a new Recon, specifically without the upgraded Alpine and 8" screen. For now, the 7" will do. That being said, it needs an audio overhaul.

The project has started... More to come, but here's a couple sneak peaks.

1) SSV soundworks soundbar adapters leave much to be desired. If you want a real pair of adapters, shoot me a PM. They will cost more than the SSV, but they'll look more dialed in.

2) Nothing beats the smell of fiberglass. JL 12TW3 is inbound.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the install. I’ll be doing the same thing for a JL 10tw3 when I get the time to install everything.

Update 2....

Speakers will be Focal Flax Evo separates in the dash using the Metra pods. Soundbar is the coaxial version of the Evo’s.

Everything will run active via the Rockford Fosgate DSR1/Maestro interface and dsp.

Which adapter harness are you using with the DSR-1 and the 7” screen?

so, here’s a little box work. JL 12TW3.

So, it turns out that getting roughly net .8-1cu feet, while staying as compact and low as possible isn't that easy. At least I have some mounting points for the box now though, and won't be drilling the fender like the Stealthbox requires.

Progress continues....

Nice work! When I did rough calculations for my box it was about 0.6 cu feet. I plan on making a box similar to the JL stealth box. Flush with the sides but taller than your box. Why are you trying to make the box lower and what location did you use to secure the box? Another location I looked at was under the rear seats, making the box removable so the seats could still be folded down.

The JL 12TW3 requires .8-1.0 net. I don't want be taller than the side windows because i have sky 1 touch and they fold out. just wanted some clean lines and curves.

Mounting points are an issue. But, this box sits out in the cargo area far enough to leverage the 2 tie down mounting points in the floor. The hatch for storage is still fully usable. And, I have the OEM cargo mat with the back seat attachments. This box clears all of that.

Sounds like you’ve got everything well thought out. Did you make a jig and use a router for the stacked sections of the box or a jig saw?

Nice work on the sub box. Doing 2?

Wish I would NOT have ordered the Alpine system in mine. The whole thing came out except the touch screen and soundbar speakers (that I never turn up anyway). If I could rewind, I'd get the basic system that came in the Rubicon, pull it all and order the upcoming Stinger 10" screen....would have been cheaper.

I am hoping that a single 12TW3 will make me happy. I would like to not have to do two. That being said, I am approaching it as if I should do 2.

I went with the 7” display. The only thing that disappoints me is a lack of HD radio in that setup. I can’t believe they left that feature out.

Update.... amp(s) are in.

I am hoping 125x6 at 4 ohms, and 800w x1 at 2 ohms is enough.

Audiocontrol is amazing quality and local to me. I have used their equipment before, and I don’t think there has ever been a negative review.

the layout of the amps make the vent under the seats clear with ease. All wires hidden, and there is plenty of ambient cooling capability.
