I really like my Rubi take-off rims. I hadn't planned on swapping rims, but tire selections for 18's was even harder to find than 34's on 17" rims.
That's what I'm finding out. Why did they have to put 18's on the Sahara?! If I had a friend that offered me Rubi take-offs less than 500 miles for $1k I'd be all over that like stink on sh1t.

Keep an eye on the members marketplace, they pop up quite often at various prices. You could also watch FB Marketplace, or Craigslist for local sellers.

I like the 295/70 I just put on. Basically a 34 and a little wider than most 33s. I think it’s an underrated size because I was just like you so I split the difference.

Looks good - are those 295/70R17?

Love them. What tires you going with?
I bought 315 Duratracs and put them on my OEM wheels. After that I changed my mind and bought the AEV on sale at Northridge. Putting my oem wheelsnon my daughters white JK 2dr.

Can’t decide if I should put 295/70R18 on my stock wheels or buy new wheels and go with 35x12.5R18. Much of a visual difference? Thoughts?

My wheels finally arrived. Fuel Ammo Anthracite 17x9 (-12mm) mated to Goodyear Duratrac Wrangler 35x12.50R17s.

With the Mopar 2.5" lift I couldn't be happier. Need to puzzle out the proper tire pressure. It's currently at 38psi now, but will certainly likely lower it after a chalk test.

Tazer JL Mini is on the way to fix N/V ratio (speedo) and TPMS threshold.

I can't wait to get out into the Roosevelt National Forest and get some mud (or snow) on these things...

Well It's finally all installed! Thanks to everyone for their input and advice. I went with some cost saving options and I couldn't be happier with the look I got for the price. Total Amount I spent on this build was only $1409!!

$1100
- Rubicon take off wheels and tires with less than 500 miles on them. (KO2 Tires 33 inch)

$188 - Rubicon take off suspension from a 2020 JLRU. After a little digging found shocks and springs 60/61 and 90/91

$62 - .75 inch Daystar spacers, front and back to give it a little extra lift.

$59 - New Lower Control Arms from the MOPAR 2 inch lift kit.

Installed everything myself. So saved a decent amount on labor. Here are some progression photos and the final before and after pictures.

So in total I gained 2.5 inches on the front and the back. Here are some before and after wheel clearance shots.

Thanks again for everyone's insight on tire size suggestions, lift tips, and overall economical tricks. I never would have even considered taking Rubicon parts and putting them on my Jeep. Such a great upgrade for a fraction of the price a normal lift would cost. I definitely learned a lot from this build and I'm excited to keep adding more. I'm thinking Dana 44s down the line and in the short term CB radio and some tube doors. I'll keep ya'll updated, let me know what you guys think of how it turned out!

Your Jeep looks very good and you got it that way at a low price, yet it is done right. Congrats on doing this yourself with a little research and elbow grease!

Looks like a Jeep now! I sold my stock wheels and tires for $500 on Craigslist. If you want to cut that overall cost down. I gave away the sport suspension :)

That looks better. Here's mine - same as yours but with Rubi suspension and 3/4" spacers. If I was doing it again I might leave the 3/4" spacer off the rear for better leveling but this picture exaggerates the rake.

Saw this old post and love the look of your setup and am going the same way.

Purchased a pair of Rubicon takeoffs yesterday and ordered the spacers this morning. Can't wait to get it on.

Saw this old post and really like the looks of your setup and am going the same way.

After having it on for a while, would you leave the rear spacers on or go without?
Tough question since I haven't seen it without. I think I'd leave them off though.

Edited my original post since I saw your later reply saying you wouldn't take them off. I like the looks of it as is and have recently added a Rubicon steel bumper.
