Tapping the wires was easier than I thought, and much cleaner. I didn't like the protrusion from the outlet.

It's incredibly easy... Removing the panel was the only pain in the ass. I used Posi-taps... no splicing.... They're faaaaantastic.I might be dumb but how easy... I have tapped into the rear cargolight but not the cig yet...
link. Pics.I installed a 40w LED rechargeable magnet mount work light in the back. Bright plus just pull off and use as a work light outside the vehicle. Total cost $8.

Yes... tapped into the cig lighter wires & just use the switch to cut the power... I don't care for the 'always on.'So you were able to hard wire it?
When you have a min can you show me where you ran the wire? I'm sure you hid it all the way down to the switch? ThanksYes... tapped into the cig lighter wires & just use the switch to cut the power... I don't care for the 'always on.'
I tried one of them fancy lighted switches, did something wrong & popped a fuse. The kill switch was easier for me.
For now, it's clipped down the side of the top using the clips Oracle provides. I don't like the look. This weekend, I'm gonna fish it thru inside the top along with the harness so it looks cleaner. When you have a min can you show me where you ran the wire? It's no bigger than the stock part it replaces. How much, if any, larger is the new housing/light? Any issues there?
Tips or a write up would be greatly appreciated. ThanksFor now, it's clipped down the side of the top using the clips Oracle provides. I don't like the look. This weekend, I'm gonna fish it thru inside the top along with the harness so it looks cleaner.
I'm using this quick-disconnect for when I take the top off.
