FWIW I'm running 37's on mine with the auto and 4.10 gears. It still gets into 8th on the highway and I'm up to 19.7 mpg. Seems fine on the trails too.
I saw a slight uptick in mileage after 25k miles. combined mpg was 17mpg and now at 19mpg regularly combined. Can hit 22mpg on highway on a good calm day at 65mph.

I’m at 18k miles and getting 17.5 mpg.

But I am running on 315/70r17’s with a manual and 4.10’s. If I get better mileage great, but my hope is that the 4.88’s will get me better pickup going up into the hills and make crawling easier.

Been running in manual mode our last few trips out and it really improved my mileage. From an average of 16 to 18. I was impressed.

So many glowing reviews of the auto and now a recall on the pressure plate? Maybe I should have bought one?

Nah...

They act like they've never changed a clutch plate before

Curious, I had a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Hardrock 2-door. 6-speed manual. Loaded with everything. Put just under 100,000 miles on it in 3 years. Ride was a little rough but loved where you could put it anywhere. And I loved the color hypergreen. I really miss my 2-door Jeep. Plus I miss a Jeep period. Really looking hard at a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited diesel. Drove 2 and they are a beast. Perfect marriage between engine/drivetrain and the Jeep Wrangler. For some reason i still miss my 2-door. How is the ride and drive compare to the JK in your opinion?

Hey Socks, before I bought the JL, I had two different 2 door JK Rubicons, a 2009 with the 3.8L and 6 speed manual and a 2012 with the 3.6L and 5 speed auto, and I can say with a certainty that my 2 door JL Rubicon rides much nicer than either of the 2 JK's. Both of my JK's had the Teraflex leveling kit and 33" KM2's on Mamba MR1 wheels, but even when they were bone stock the ride was a little more rough when compared to the JL.

I'm not sure if the ride in the JL is better because it's still pretty new (about 4 months old) and everything is tight, the slightly longer length and wheelbase of the JL, changes to suspension components (???), or a combination of all those factors.

I think the 8 speed auto in the JL is also a perfect match to the 3.6L and Rubi 4.10 gears. There's plenty of get up and go and gas mileage is better than either of my JK's. With a little under 4,000 KM's on the motor and Winter gas still in the tank, I'm getting about 21-22 mpg on the highway and 16-17 mpg in the city.

Yep thats better than my JK. ROUGHLY 17-18mpg all the time. I've driven the JL 2-door in Rubicon trim. 8-speed/3.6 liter was great. Just didn't drive it very far. Salesman was annoying and I wanted the drive to end. Diesel is great but very expensive. Keep thinking I need the room of the 4-door. But I feel like the 2-door would be fine again even if my girlfriend and I went on a long trip. Thanks for the reply.

Great looking Jeep by the way.
