I was wondering if anyone on this forum ever considered using the rear seats from a 2 door JL and installing them in the JLU. I was looking at a few pics of the rear seats from JL and I think they can possibly fit it mounted as a 3rd row in the JLU. It will be a much cleaner look and will Have an OEM look over other seats people have been using. Thoughts ?

This was a thing in the JKU, if I remember from those days there were brackets made to use the factory attachment points on the 2door rear seat

Did you finish this out? I'd like to see the finished product.

I never started lol I was about to order the seat until I realized I have the alpine subwoofer so I think that will prevent my seat from fitting.

Keep in mind that the cargo compartment is not designed to protect occupants in any kind of crash, whether it’s on the trail or on the road.

True. Might need to put this on the back burner

The JKU rear compartment had same frame strength from rear passenger section all the way back to tailgate. Rollbar didn't cover it but there is a aftermarket roll bar addition. I know JLU has rollbar addition available would just need to verify frame strength (Jeep usually puts that info out). Same safety argument made many times over. People usually show a Jeep hit by semi as proof, except any third row vehicle hit by semi looks the same, or a smart car for that matter... Not saying you should do it, just offering a different view point.
