Not only did it not work, I looked like a victim of a prank in the middle of the parking lot....
I apologize this didn't work. Those are the instructions I've been given to try and reset the GPS signal- I promise I wasn't pranking you. I would like to get a case open for you and you over to a Uconnect specialist. To do this I will need you to make an appointment with your servicing dealership. Once that is done I can escalate your case for you.

I have been experiencing issues with my GPS for several months now. I've had my Wrangler at the Dealer a few times but they can't figure it out. The compass shows the wrong direction, my navigation thinks I am about 200 miles from my actual location, the date/time is not correct, the Uconnect App won't remote start the vehicle, etc. All of the software is up to date, they've attempted to reset everything, and the last feedback I received was that the system would have to be replaced. Thankfully I have the extended warranty. I'm holding out for a software update rather than replacing everything right now. This is based on the fact the dealership showed me a TSB that described every issue I was having but, at the time, it did not include the Wrangler. It did include almost all other FCA vehicles including RAM trucks, Dodge cars, and the Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Renegade, etc. The dealership thought it would be a matter of time before the Wrangler would have a similar update. They tried that update on my Wrangler anyway but without success. Does anyone know if/when an update will be available for the Wrangler? Note, I never used the carplay before any of this happened so I do not believe that caused this problem.

During my last routine service I mentioned the intermittent issues I have with Uconnect, ie backup camera missing guidelines, loss of touch response on the screen, plus rear tailgate not responding to touch lock/unlock. Dealer could not replicate issues in the shop, so did nothing to remedy. @JeepCares

Hi Alison, I was joking, but it did look that way. It is now at Best Jeep in Plymouth, MA. They have had it for 3-4 days now. They tried to upload a new software release and it froze the whole system. They have ordered a new radio/GPS unit. They can't figure out what is wrong.

Plus, the 'death wobble' is back after they replaced the steering stabilizer and I believe, tie rods. You can look back at my records with 'Jeep Cares', it should all be there. The service department told me, 'corporate' is giving him a hard time about fixing this 'death wobble' again.

They are also replacing a rear axle seal that was leaking.

All this, and it doesn't have 30K on it yet. Luckily I bought an extended warranty. Any help is greatly appreciated. You folks did a great job keeping the service department on top of things through my other issues. You folks are great advocates for the customers.

I have the same intermittent issues and they did replicate in the shop. They didnā€™t have a fix and told me to wait for an update. That was at least until my GPS issues started. Iā€™m thinking I may just need to have them replace the radio.

Hi, I do apologize your dealership was unable to duplicate you concern. Your dealer will need to be able to duplicate the concern for themselves in order to determine the root cause. I would recommend keeping in contact with them to insure they can assist you. If you have any additional questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach back out. We are just a private message away and always happy to help.

@JeepCares I have been having the same issue with navigation not able to detect my correct location and none of my UConnect remote services are working (subscription is up to date - called UConnect and they said I needed to take to dealer). Took to dealer end of February and they could not fix it and all they could tell me is that I need a software update, but they did not know when it would be out. I asked if I would be notified once it was out, and was told no - I need to keep calling them to find out when it is out. Do you know if there is truly an update that is supposed to fix these issues and when it will be available? Thanks for your help!

Hi, it does sound like your Uconnect system needs to be updated. I would recommend checking if there are any updates available for your vehicle on our website. Once you have checked that I will be able to know how to best assist you.

I did check and it says the following update is available: UCONNECT_8.4_IR21.10_MY18JL_VP4R_USA. However, when I read the associated Service Bulletin ID: 08-001-19 it says the update should not be performed unless customer has one of the (4) issues listed in the bulletin. I have not experienced any of those listed items. I assume this is why the dealer did not do this, but if you think it may fix it I can contact the dealer to see if they will do it. Thanks.

Did you know you're able to update your Uconnect software yourself via USB. I would recommend completing the update when you have time.

Be careful though. My dealer tried to do the update and it locked the whole unit. They ordered another unit because nothing could be done with it. Bring it to the dealer. Let them fix it.

That was good advice. Took it to the dealer today and same thing happened. They said the update locked up the radio and they were unable to revert it back to the prior software version. New radio ordered - guess I'll be meditating during my drives for the next 10 days.
