Radio shutting off and coming back on??

There is a thread on this somewhere. My wifes 2018 does it . There does not seem to be a fix. YET !

the FIAT electronic specialists are working on it though , my radio is unpredictable as well but mostly it plays OK

I’ve heard about this happening a long time ago. From what I remember, it didn’t end well. If I recall correctly the name was Christine.

Link to the thread below. 37 pages and counting. lots of JL owners have experienced it. I’m sure there’s a STAR case or two out there on it, but last I read there was no definitive solution from Jeep.

I believe a Ram owner with the 8.4 Uconnect was able to resolve the issue by replacing his backup camera of all things. Dealer will likely want to replace the radio, but that oddly doesn’t seem to fix it.

Hey, JROD1313. To clarify, have you brought this to the attention of your dealer for diagnosis? Since they will be in the best position to pinpoint the cause of your radio concerns, we do recommend doing so as soon as you can. Let us know if you need help.

Ive had the problem too. Last 2 times I was by the dealership they obviously couldn't replicate it. They said I had the most recent software update too. Last Friday while getting an oil change I mentioned it again. Again they service manager said it appeared I had the latest update. A "master tech" jumped in and did some "research" and found a new update somewhere. It took almost 2 hours to update. I haven't had any issues yet but it has only been 5 days. Might be worth a shot next time your by there (and have time).

i am also having this problem, the radio suddenly shuts down, does a full reboot and then comes back on like nothing happened. No rhyme or reason to when it will do it. Hope Jeep figures out a cure, it is more annoying than anything else, you pay this much for an automobile, it would be nice that everything works properly.And it is so random i do not know how the dealer would troubleshoot the problem.

Mine hasn't shut off and rebooted but on one drive it would randomly bring up the volume screen. Didn't change volume or anything just show the volume bar and then go back to the standard radio screen. Did that several times until I reached destination. On restart and ever since hasn't happened again. I'm new to Jeep, are having Gremlins part of the experience?
