Hello everyone. I decided to go for a set of 295/70R17s with a set of new wheels from Quadratec, the Baja Xtreme 2s (17x9 with 4.75 inch backspacing). I’m loving the look!

I did have some issues with them rubbing on the front splash guards, the plastic piece between the bumper and fender, so I removed them last night. I tried to get some photos of what it looked like before and after removing them.

I realized now that I forgot to take a good side profile shot, so I’ll post that later if anyone wants to see it. Thank you to everyone on here who did good write ups and to those who have given me advice!

37x12.50 on 17x9 Vision Nemesis wheels, set at 25 psi. The wheels have a rock ring to be installed after they're painted Mojito!. Installed on Saturday with no lift. Minor rubbing in rear fender liners. RK 2.5" lift gets installed in a few weeks........son couldn't wait and wanted them on NOW....hahaha!

How do these M/T tires do in the cold and snow? The BFG M/T on my JK were downright dangerous.

I don't know yet.....might get a chance to try them out on some snow covered roads in the Sierra Nevada mountains in a few weeks. I really wanted the Cooper STT Pros, but decided on these since there's more siping and tread blocks in contact with road surface. They are kind of like a hybrid MT/AT.

If they aren't great, I was going to have siping added to the center tread blocks. I did this years ago on Goodyear MTR's (first version on the TJ Rubicon) since those tires were absolutely dangerous on packed snow and ice. Once the center tread blocks were siped, the tires performed good enough for me to feel comfortable driving in the winter.

I have liked them better than the K02's in snow.

They are certainly not Blizzak on a Subaru good, but better than I'd thought and damn good in deep snow. I do lower the pressure to 27psi on icy days but most days I'm running 32-34 psi cold.

Still playing with pressures to see what works best. They are designed to run on the center lugs, so going for the full chalk test does not apply?

The Vision Nemesis is a cool wheel.

I had its predecessor, the MB52. I've also had a set of the Vision Nemesis.

Vision bought out MB. They changed the wheel ring by adding gear teeth. I liked the MB version better.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Here you go. Picture from the beach today, aired down to 20 psi.
Nice! I'd strongly consider adding a Rubicon suspension swap, this will get you the perfect clearance for those 295 Pats (same size I run), here's a before & after
