Hi SJ, yea they donā€™t recommend it with Sky One because there are alignments that go with having that roof. From what Iā€™ve read itā€™s very tough to realign the roof. I personally wonā€™t ever try it.

I actually think you can't really do it because the top traps the header seal on the corners that wrap over the doors a bit. On a hard top the freedom panels come off and they are free to rotate forward, and same with the soft top. Pretty sure you would have to loosen or remove the side rail bolts on the power top for the front of the rails to lift enough to let the seal pass by it. Then the top is just there scooping air with the side rails still in place anyway.

This sucks to service/check the header seal, as this is a typical leak source.

Soooo glad I read this just now! I literally just took all 4 bolts out and was trying to see what was binding and keeping the windshield from folding down. Figured I'd search here first before applying any real force- glad I did! Thanks for posting this.
