You laugh but I ran mud tires on my AWD ecoboost flex for quite a few years. Did great in sand and not-too-deep slick mud!

Right.During the backgrounder FCA stated the Mojave would do 50mph with the rear locked in 4H. Definitely built for desert running instead of the rock crawling focused Rubicon.
Further proof they need some competition so they stop with all of these appearance packages. It really is frustrating that they won't offer bigger engines when they are THE company that drops stupid horsepower engines into their other cars.https://www.motor1.com/news/397051/jeep-gladiator-special-edition-debuts/
Jeep Gladiator Mojave. First Jeep to wear the new Desert Rated badge.
That bronco version looks pretty darn good.
I thought the same thing. I would not be upset if that is what we get. That bronco version looks pretty darn good.
The 2.7L ecoboost in the F150 is getting mid to upper twenties mpg, in the F150! The specs of 325 hp and 400 lb-ft beat both Wrangler gasoline engines.1. That's subjective. Both the 3.6 and 2.0 perform very well for the platform they share and have had relatively zero issues after the first 2 years in the JL. I do expect Ford to offer a better premium engine such as a V8 which would be great.
See the snips from wikipedia below which verify that assertion.2.7L Ecoboost 325hp/400tq seems to be the confirmed base engine for the Bronco!
If the 2.7L fits both Bronco and F150, then the powerstroke should also fit the Bronco. So, I think Ford has a leg up on powertrain potential over Jeep, unless Jeep opens door number 4, the Hemi.Ford insiders have strongly suggested it will not be the 2.7, but something larger. That list is pretty short, either 3.0 or 3.5 TT Ecoboost, pics of the R prototype would suggest it has to be the third gen 3.0L TT Ecoboost.
I'd love to see a V8, but chances seem quite low. If Ford bumps up the offering on the F150 Raptor to one of the forced induction 5.0 or 5.2 V8s then Bronco/Ranger won't be stepping on its ego if they get a 350+hp V6.
Nice. Like the hood. Interesting comment about "cast steel steering knuckles" as well.Looks Like Ford Bronco is Serious About Taking on the Wrangler <---- Original Thread title.
Looks like Jeep is serious about fending off the Ford Bronco.

Yeah that and hydraulic bump stops.Nice. Like the hood. Interesting comment about "cast steel steering knuckles" as well.
I wonder if there will be "Mopar" options for these for our JLs now? Would love to see a Mopar / Fox 2.5" remote reservoir shock and hydraulic bump stop option. Also a 1.5" or 1" spring lift and cast knuckles would be good additions to the wrangler.Yeah that and hydraulic bump stops.
They can start by having REAL hood louvers. lolWell then Jeep better get serious and stop throwing different paint and badges at everyone, that's pitiful!
Luckily they got serious and stopped throwing different paint and badges at everyone with the MojaveWell then Jeep better get serious and stop throwing different paint and badges at everyone, that's pitiful!
Did you read about the mojave yet ?I wonder if there will be "Mopar" options for these for our JLs now? Would love to see a Mopar / Fox 2.5" remote reservoir shock and hydraulic bump stop option. Also a 1.5" or 1" spring lift and cast knuckles would be good additions to the wrangler.
