Went to my first car show with the Jeep today. Gotta say, definitely the oddball of the show and they didnt really have a class for Jeeps per say but I was still looking forward to hanging out, meeting new people, and checking out some cool cars. So, for those of you not familiar with me or my Jeep I feel a deep personal connection with my Jeep that goes back to my first ride. My first car was a 1996 Firebird with a very similar color which is why when I saw Jeeps came in Bikini I knew I wanted one. We joke that the Firebird was my first love. When my wife and I were dating we were frequently flyers at car shows together. That's partly how I knew she was the one was that she enjoyed it because I enjoyed it and we had a ton of fun going and showing. That is actually the reason I named my Jeep Phoenix was as a tribute to the Firebird. Here we are now over 14 years of marriage and two kids later back at a car show together. It was a very feel good day. Not one to usually show myself on forums but today you get to see my ugly mug as well as my lovely bride and her cool home made Jeep shirt as well as the kiddos.

Thanks for posting the pictures! Looks like you and your family had a good time. I don't think the smile on your children's faces could possibly be any bigger.

I just entered my first ever car show in July. It was the July Jamboree that is held in our town and is the biggest special event of the year. They close off 3 blocks on main street, and line up all of the entries in three rows the whole way down the street. There were over 450 vehicles entered this year, hundreds of vendors, and over 20,000 people that came to see the show. My first time as a contestant was interesting. I really enjoyed talking to people about cars.

Here is my entry: A 1973 CJ5, all stock, right down to the OEM wheels from 1973.

Nice ride. Don't get discouraged about little to no Jeeps at shows. Keep an eye out for the shows that focus on Jeeps. I think your Jeep would show very well at one, it is that nice looking of a ride. Enjoy your Jeep.

Nicely done. I am from Alabama but lived in Missouri long enough to fall for the St. Louis Blues Hockey Team

Nice looking jeep. Is that Hydro Blue, or Bikini? I feel like it's Bikini Pearl.

Real talk, why is your hood open?

Have you done anything to the engine?

I mean if you put a shiny charge pipe or replace your intake or something, I guess I could see someone wanting to show that off, otherwise it's just like why show off a stock engine? It would have been much cooler in that case to fold down your front window instead! ;)

It's bikini, and I believe it's a show requirement to be judged though it's not explicitly called out. I did paint the engine cover and fuse box cover to match though so at least it wasn't completely stock for the show lol.

Well we found our next car show to attend in two weeks! Going to try and paint some caps under the hood and touch up the tube doors in preparation. Anyone else have any ideas or suggestions? Spend my money for me haha!
