Yep, truly is amazing what you can do stock.
Yeah. I have added a skid plate for the front diff, and have one to put on the rear. I'd like an oil pan skid, but at the same time, I'm not going to put a ton on it and lift it and all that stuff. It's still my daily driver, and it can do Fins n Things as is. It outperformed other vehicles that are much more built-up. The JLUR stock is, as you said, amazing.

Like you I suspect, I will wheel a new JP for about a year to 2 before I decide to build her up. Teaches me what she can do and her limitations. Glad you had such an awesome time!

You've got a lot left in that rig the way it is before you need to upgrade. I ran fins n things 100% stock save for some cheap-o amazon steel bumpers when I first bought it. To this day, it's still one of my favorite trails. When you return, look into hells revenge and poison spider. They will suit you well with that rig.

This is my first Wrangler; have had it for a few months. I imagine I will give in and throw a ton of money into it at some point, but trying to hold off for now. I used to do some silly things in my stock Cherokee Trailhawk. But 4wheeling is like my fourth hobby, behind kayaking, climbing, etc... so it's hard to justify TOOOO much expenditure on the Jeep. But, damn, Fins was so fun and this movie gets me so stoked!

Nice video.

Moab is such an incredible place. I ran my entirely stock '19 JLUR through Fins n Things, Hells Revenge, Poison Spider, Gold Bar Rim, Golden Spike, Steel Bender, and Metal Masher the few days I was there.

I did use the skids quite a bit as well as the steel bumpers on Golden Spike, but it was pretty smooth sailing!

Oh man... Hells Revenge was RIGHT THERE. I'll have to read more. I'm not sure I am going to drive anything harder than Fins, at least til the Jeep is a little older and I owe a little less money on it!

Thanks! Did you do any meaningful damage? I am not trying to break anything on it just yet!

Not at all. I had some scrapes on the underside of the steel bumpers front and rear but nothing you couldn't use some rattle can on. I was very cautious on lines. Golden Spike it felt like I needed some more clearance/35's but honestly, I never even used the lockers.

FWIW, I've been wheeling since 2005, though nothing serious until 2011.

If you hit all the optional lines on Fins n Things, you'll do fine making your way through hells revenge. The really big stuff is optional, just make the trip to the overlook, look at hells gate (dont drive it), drive by the hot tubs, and skip the tip over challenge, and the escalator. You'll do just fine with the rest of it. FWIW, Jeepeto II made it through Hells Revenge in this way on the same day that we hit Fins n Things. You've got more clearance, bigger more aggressive tires, and lockers.

Yep that's right. Subarus can make it through Hell's revenge. Can/should are two different things of course but nonetheless, the trail isn't hard and you can pretty much bypass everything. It's a beautiful trail.

1:58: pucker factor as the Tacoma's passenger tire sees air.

4:55: Is that a bearded Idahoan on the back of the JLUR?

This makes me want to go soo badly.
