FCA Design Chief Uses Jeep Wrangler to Help Victims in Fiery Crash Scene

Written by:

The FCA head of design, Ralph Gilles, reminds us once again how useful the Jeep Wrangler can be when he rendered assistance with his Wrangler at a fiery crash scene that left one victim dead.  The fiery accident occurred two weekends ago north of Detroit when two vehicles collided head-on.  Coming upon the scene, Gilles used his Wrangler to push a Ford Edge engulfed in flames across the road in an attempt to free a couple trapped in the other vehicle.

Of his actions, Gilles said: “I still have no idea where that (thought) came from. The only thing I can remember thinking (is) I’ve got a Jeep, it’s got a bumper on it, I think I can do this. All I could think about were the two people still inside the other car.”
