Gorilla Glass, by Corning and offered by Mopar, will be an available upgrade for the JL Wrangler – both for the windshield and rear lift gate glass.
Gorilla glass is a brand of specialized toughened glass developed and manufactured by Corning, designed to be thin, light and damage-resistant. The glass gains its surface strength, ability to contain flaws, and crack-resistance by being immersed in a proprietary, hot potassium salt ion-exchange bath.
According to Mopar, Corning Gorilla Glass “has been validated in testing and is backed by a two-year limited warranty. Utilizing the same glass used on cell phone screens, this heavy-duty glass can take just about any punishment Mother Nature can dish out.”
