Finally LED is standard equipment (but not till you get up to the Sahara trim). In 2024 that should be standard on the base $40K Sport.

The starting MSRP for the Rubicon X is very deceiving. That price is for the Manual Tranny and the 2.0 and smaller tires. If you want the 35" tires you have to add the 8 speed tranny and the 3.6. They should call it the Rubicon Lower case x or maybe the Rubicon x lite.

That's how base prices work.

Don’t worry people a certain someone said they lowered the cost of electric and heating etc so our pockets will be lined with extra cash to be able to afford these new car prices 🤣🤣🤣

I had wondered how long it would take for the base price of a JLU (w/the same trim as mine) to exceed what I paid for my 2021 factory order.

Two years and 9 months.

😐

$1800 for destination is ridiculous
Maybe last year, a fellow forum member posted a photo of a bill of lading that he discovered in his Jeep after taking delivery. The BOL illustrated the shipping fee charged by the trucking company for the delivery of Wranglers to the dealership. The charge for the entire load of vehicles was $1,500.00. That figure was coincidentally equal to the individual "Destination Charge" line item fee evident on each Jeep's window sticker.

I wish I could find the photo and post it here. It provided more than a little context regarding the insidious effect of mark-ups.

The third pedal is only available with the V6 engine. The Turbo 4 requires the ZF 8-speed auto.

Sales will continue to decline, number of trims will follow. A Tesla model 3 can be had for 32k after all rebates and incentives. You will be surprised how many people cross shop these two. Myself included. Looking for my first fun vehicle. Test drove a 2 door sport s with hard top back in 2020 that was 30k new, a similar trim is now 42k.
Having regrets for not buying it back then. Wrangler will soon be in defender 70 territory price, volume and availability wise.

Spotted a bright spot, unless it’s an error. “Performance Satin-Black Grille By Mopar”. Shows a JL grill, not the Renegade look alike. :like:

I'll recurringly make anecdotal comparisons between the current Jeep market, so to speak, vs. my initial entry into that market in late 1994, when I purchased a new YJ.

Perhaps the most obvious and most consistently observed difference is the per capita reduction in young drivers. Sure, there's always going to be those fledglings who are driving an 84+ month coupon book. That can be said of any marque.

No, what I've been observing fairly frequently are drivers & passengers who are much closer to AARP than they are Call of Duty. They are and have been for some time now the majority of the market. This makes sense given that many of the Wranglers on the local roads are well-kitted Saharas and Rubicons, neither of which are being given away by Stellantis.

In the comparatively affordable YJ and TJ eras, it was ball caps and not bald heads.

As this thread and the related ones make plain, the shift to affluence is continuing whether we want it to or not.
