2019 Jeep Wrangler Order Banks Show 3.0L CRD Diesel and 3.6L BSG Engines!

Order banks for the 2019 Jeep Wrangler opened last week and we now have an update that certain trims are already filling up fast.  More importantly, dealership systems are now showing a few yet-to-be-seen trim codes!

New order codes — 22, 25 & 26 are now showing up in the order system and we have just 100% confirmed that the “26” order codes available for 4-door Unlimited Sport, Sahara and Rubicon models are in fact order codes for the upcoming 3.0-liter V6 CRD diesel with ESS paired with the 8HP75 8-speed automatic transmission!!  This is the first time the oft-speculated and much-delayed 3rd generation 3.0-liter CRD has shown up in dealership ordering systems which should excite many diesel Wrangler hopefuls, although there is no word yet on availability.

We have also confirmed that the “25” order code is the upcoming 3.6-liter BSG (belt start generator) engine. Regular JLWF readers will remember that we reported last year that this engine upgrade would take place at the end of 2018 and here we are.  The 3.6L BSG will be available for each standard trim and it remains to be seen which transmission pairings will be offered.

The big mystery remains the new order code “22” which shows as upcoming for both 2- and 4-door Sport, Sahara and Rubicon trims.  Wishful thinkers will wonder if this could be the 3.0-liter CRD diesel with ESS paired with the 6-speed manual transmission — which would be a huge and welcome surprise for Jeep enthusiasts who did not think this would be offered. Hold on to those hats for now though, as we have yet to confirm what this code represents.  We’ll keep everyone updated as we learn more!
