2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL) Unlimited Spied Up Close!

Here is the most detailed look to date of a next-generation 2018 Jeep Wrangler (JL) prototype which we were able to capture running on public roads.

This four-door JL Wrangler Unlimited was heavily camouflaged but thanks to a slip of the vinyl panels covering the door, we are able to see that the JL Wrangler will retain the exposed exterior door hinge mechanisms as well as similar door cut-lines as the current model which help to preserve the rugged and iconic design cues that have been the hallmark of the Wrangler.

The roof design and side mirrors also hint at classic Wrangler details that show the JL Wrangler will be a more subtle change.

Out front, we are able to see what appears to be new lighting placed on the front facing portion of the outer wheel arches. While the full design is obscured by the camouflage it appears like the little detail we can see will add some modernization to the front fascia, perhaps with the much rumored LED headlights.

As for the tail lights, the prototype shows simple units that are nearly indistinguishable from the current Wrangler.
