Up until now the 2018 JL Wrangler’s rear end has remained a mystery even as most of the vehicle has shed its heavy black cladding for the all-too-familiar black & white vinyl tape camouflage.
These latest photos provide a glimpse of what’s underneath, showing a mostly uncovered 2018 JL Wrangler Unlimited rear.
Although the images are not very clear, it is immediately obvious that the rear window appears larger, with a leaner looking frame surrounding the glass which should greatly improve visibility while providing sleeker, more modern aesthetics.
The rear profile also looks to be much flatter than the comparatively convex rear end and tailgate of the JK Wrangler, perhaps lending an even boxier appearance to the next-gen Wrangler’s side and rear views.
