That one isn't a diesel but they are being built now, heard one drive by and parked. US urea injection fill tube, mph Speedo and left hand drive. It's no rumor, only thing that sucks is no 6 speed manual option for the Eco-diesel only 4 cyl gas and 3.6
It sucks but at least most of us already suspected no manual diesel. Is the red one in the pic a Sport JL?

Not getting it. Which is which? And how do you define the forward tapering?
JK hood is on top. What's believe to be an early JL hood is on bottom.

Yeah, dealer order info already confirmed engine/trans combos that will be available. Diesel only gets the 8sp auto. 3.6L is the only one that can be had with the new 6sp manual.

I'm a sucker for details; Really loving the heat extractors in the front fenders, however small they may be.

Has your friend told you had the Trail Mangement option is? Also are the fender vents the same across the entire line? or do the Rubicons get bigger vents (this is something I was thinking since this pic shows a small vent but the leaked B&W image showed a larger one)

As happy as I am about the hood being flatter, I am surprised. I am not an engineer, but wouldn't the flatter hood be less aerodynamic and have a negative impact on MPG's, when everything else they seem to be doing is trying to make it more aerodynamic? And secondly, with all the emphasis on safety, this will reduce visibility in front of the vehicle instead of making it better.

Could it be simply based on need, that they need the space to fit everything in the engine compartment, which is why there is also a longer hood?

The popular accepted reason for the JL's longer hood has been that it's necessary to accommodate the longer/larger 8 speed transmission.

Oh one more thing... The grille looks different than the JK's. The slots are more squared and at about the center of the headlight point they are angled in towards the hood.

I'm bummed I'm not as excited as most of you guys. I've been looking at this pic all day and all I see is cheapness. Albeit, this may be the base model Sport, so I won't get too worried just yet. Here's what I see (and a few of you mentioned some of these already):

-Headrests from JK, as I mentioned before (and that leads me to believe the seats are cheap, too)
-Side mirror is bulky and unrefined
-small fender vent; disproportional to size of front quarter panel
-the "Jeep" is just a sticker and not an indentation in the body

For the side mirrors, looks like its grooves can fit a body-colored cover. Leads me to believe some appearance packages may be on the way.

Being built already? :rock::rock:

But what Billy said too :cwl:;)

So.... 2018 model year seems very possible??
Huh?

The JL starts full production in November as a 2018. This has been confirmed for months:

Wrangler Assembly Plants

Current: TSP (Toledo Supplier Park - Toledo South)
  • Building 2017 JK Wranglers until 9/30/2017
  • Will build 2018 JK Wranglers starting 10/02/2017 until 3/30/2018
  • Will shut down starting 3/31/2018 for an estimated 6 months to retool for the 2019 JT Pickup which begins production in October 2018
Future: TNAP (Toledo North Assembly Plant)
  • Currently building 2017 Jeep Cherokee KL until 4/07/2017
  • Plant will shut down from 4/08/2017 until November 2017 to prepare for Wrangler JL production
  • All-New Wrangler JL will launch 11/13/2017
