Boo no Green paint color. Weird most JKU/JK parts will still fit. Seems like they are still using a lot of the JK frame then.

Also, sucks about waiting to LA Auto show reveal. Are order banks pushed back then?

Great information!

Good

Diesel is not dead. Yet.
Orange.
Manual lumber support means updated seats. Please tell me they redesigned the back seat too!
I can keep my JK Rubicon wheels as a second set for the new rig!

Bad

Longer wheel base on JLU. (should be OK for my purposes though).
The waiting for the reveal, and for answers on the Diesel.

Really curious now to see this PSHT.

Wrangler JT to come
Great to hear the diesel is a go, as long as EPA approves of the ecodiesel fixes and sounds like it will arrive just in time for the JT pickup!

Glad to see Baja Yellow come back.

I hope the tow rating increases. 3500 sucks.

Diesel late 2019MY availability (and pending EPA certification)
This is good news for the truckers in here!
Was the 8 speed auto confirmed?
The 8 speed was confirmed long ago.

Engine/Transmission
  • New Chrysler Version of ZF 8 Speed Transmission (850RE)
  • 2.0L "Hurricane" Turbo Engine (with new 850RE transmission) (visual confirmation) (no manual option)
  • 3.0L VM Diesel Engine (with new 8HP75 transmission) (late 2019MY availability, pending EPA certification)
  • 3.6L Pentastar V6 Upgraded Engine (with new 850RE transmission); Comes standard with Engine Start-Stop (ESS) technology (See Thread For More Info) that can be turned off but will default to "on" with each ignition cycle (visual confirmation)

I guess all keep my 2017 JKU until 2019 now when the diesel launches. Plus, I love the Rhino color I have and that's not going to be offered anymore :(

Thank you for posting. Some really interesting stuff in here.. really no 2DR Sahara? No manual for 2.0. Guess that mean the base vehicle will be the auto 2.0? Glad to see the diesel still has a date attached to it.

I realized it was confirmed back then, but I'm not seeing it in the Engines/Transmissions list the OP posted, which seems like it would be a more definitive confirmation than something posted months ago.

Engines / Transmissions
  • Updated 3.6L Pentastar V6 Manual Transmission (standard), 3.6L Automatic (optional)
  • 2.0 DOHC Automatic Transmission (standard), No manual option
  • Diesel late 2019MY availability (and pending EPA certification)
Excited to start seeing more details nonetheless.

The count down for the press release is 42 days (based on the homepage). Is that a confirmed date? Is it known how that will be released? Sorry, I am new and may have missed this in a previous post or thread. Cool website with a lot of great info.

LA Auto show is December 1-10. So no, that number would not be correct.
