Then why bring it up?The latest CRD Wrangler numbers are inconsequential to this discussion.
Like I said, the diesel will extend range, but it won't be magic, and the 5MPG I'm guesstimating is based on the EPA's very optimistic testing methods, not real world like I said.
It's going to be a good fit for some, but the EcoDiesel Wrangler is not going to be riding on unicorns and spewing raibows out its exhaust.
Some real world temperance of enthusiasm is need for most people looking forward to this, because the expectations are right out of SchoolGirl Fan Fiction.
PS, 'better than the old one' as a metric is good, when the old one beats the Ecodiesel which is unchanged, IS a good metric, ie, it eill only extend the existing gap. I don't have more of a metric because the EcoDiesel hasn't been out head to head due to EPA ban, and the Cherokee didn't get all the PSU/PUG boost possible (see SAE article for the optimistic 15% torque and 6% MPG imorovement numbers).
