Thank you all for sharing! Hope to read more.
I don't have a Wrangler story of my own yet but hope to fill this space soon. I can say that it's been a dream of mine for quite a few years now. I can't wait to join the fervent group of Jeep Wrangler owners. Even just the few stories above...
Jeep has a habit of introducing new colors and axing current colors without notice so we could easily see new colors after launch. I don't think it'll be long before we see them introduce a yellow or orange.
Now that we've seen much more of the JL, what do you guys foresee modifying?
If that high line fender seen on the black Rubicon prototype is a Rubicon-only feature, that'll be my first mod.
13.74" rear brakes on the JT pickup! :surprised: Would be nice if this was the stock rear brakes for the JL/JLU too.

Me too! Towing capacity should increase just by virtue of the higher torque figures they'll have compared to the JK. Beyond that though a whole host of things will decide towing capacity -- transmission, rear axle, vehicle frame.
200 JL prototypes... surprised we haven't seen more on the streets especially of the 2 door.
He mentions it wont be shown to the public until at least this summer. Granted it's almost summer but I wonder if that is from info provided to them to indicate possible summer debut.
Sounds like a premium option. Good to have more choices as long as they give us traditional manual fully removeable tops too. AFAIK the mysky roof is pretty new and debuted on the Renegade just recently. Complex new features like this sometimes have teething issues so would be interesting to...
Except instead of the TJ's 4 cylinder's 147hp / 165lb-ft we should see somewhere in ballpark of 300hp/300lb-ft on the Turbo 4 :surprised: Quite an improvement since the last 4 cyl Wrangler.
Yea I think the reason for the heavy camo remaining on the rear is that what's underneath shows how the new roof structure works. There's other trusty members here that have said there'll be a cage structure after windshield and roof panels are removed so it might be exactly what you're...
These prototypes don't look like the Rubicon and we’ve seen a hood bulge on every single prototype spied so far. I’m predicting we’re going to see fancier hood on even the standard models. The standard JK hood always seemed like it coulda used some more flare to it - lines, bulge, vents, etc.
Jeep just announced the 2017 Compass this morning. It has the 4th gen Uconnect system with 3 screen choices just like @Milous said the JL Wrangler will get! From the press release:
Fourth-generation Uconnect system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and the choice of 5.0-, 7.0- or 8.4-inch...
Yes and there's a huge small-mid size pickup pie to split. Almost 200k Tacomas sold in 2016. Over 100k Colorados. And over 600k F-150's! That's about 1 million small to midsize pickup trucks sold in 2016. I can see the JT pickup selling 200-300k easy in its first year.
Good, so the standard radio straight out of the 90s will at least be replaced with a display screen?
And hope that they fill the dash with the gorgeous 8.4" Uconnect. Look at this compared to the current display!
Sad current one :(
The Hurricane 2.0L turbo will come with direct injection so I'd hope the new Pentastar will too if it's supposed to be the top of the line engine for the JL.
Sounds like some specs have already been released behind the scenes. Funny that even hearing tire/wheel sizes makes the wait more fun. Thanks to all who are posting this advanced info.
