I think if FCA provided JL/JLU CAD drawings and the vendor then took those and created renderings based off of it which they released to the public, that would be the last time they ever get any info in advance.
I'm sure they are required to sign NDA's which would at the least prohibit them...
Another F150 guy here too :like:
I'm in the reverse situation, i plan on keeping my F150 for a long time and can't justify another pickup to the wife... however if it ends up looking like the Crew Chief 715 i will fight tooth and nail lol
She likes the idea of adding a JL to the stable for...
That's the main thing for me. I love the idea of instant torque but the fear of getting stuck on a trail would be a big one for a full EV. In some parts you won't be able to find a recharging station for a long ways out even after you reach pavement. I think Manley already hinted that they would...
Surprised there hasn't been any discussion about the big hood bump on the prototype.
Are we thinking this is a Hard Rock edition with its raised vented hood?
Ford doesn't seem worried. They just announced the F150 is getting a 3.0 Power Stroke Diesel and a hyrid later on in 2020. Good news for the JL and JT diesel, which seems to be following the same path.
Wow so almost 100K after all is said and done! The Filson edition does look great but I think I'll just wait for Jeep to give us something hopefully in the 30-40 range.
Some prototypes have shown a hood bump/cowl/scoop spotted underneath their camouflage so that could help prevent heat soak.
You can see it clearly here.
I second that. Every one pictured there is just a refreshed model. The pickup is going to be held close to the vest and I think they'll give it visual separation from the standard Wrangler.
Definitely longer front end especially from the front doors to the front wheels. I don't mind the Unlimited getting longer like this but hope they keep the 2 door compact and close to current size.
The plastic bumper ends get damaged upon the slightest damage. Yes they're cheap and disposable, but we wouldn't have to go through the hassle if they gave us steel bumpers from the factory. Unfortunately it seems like we're still getting plastic bumpers with the JL. It gives the company a...
Just more weight and complexity if they go to a powered retracting soft top. Here's an idea - why not just make the whole thing a soft panel that can be rolled up manually? Or an even bigger soft panel that would cover and button down on the entire roof structure. Still easily removable and...
I bet the Bronco gets the 3.5 ecoboost. Honestly its the better engine in all these categories f you are comparing it to the 5.0L.
1. Fuel economy
2. Torque
3. HP
4. Towing ability
5. Mod-ability
And I dont see the Bronco getting a removable top, maybe only partial. It's never really had full...
The latest and greatest turbos are much more responsive, even giving good low end torque. But a turbo engine in a Wrangler has even more stringent requirements than a "regular" road car that never sees a track or off road. It's gotta be able to deal with tough conditions that a regular on-road...
Has to be coming. I think the list just includes 'new' things the car will get. Would be a cardinal sin if they abandoned 6sped manual on the Wrangler.
This is the same high performance 2.0T that will power the Alfa Giulia (not Quadrifoglio model). Doesn't seem like a budget base kinda engine to me if they're using it in the Giulia. My guess is the V6 will be the base engine and the 2.0T the 'upgraded' engine.
