  1. Say hi to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU

The JL front fenders look wider to me in stock form (resulting in that longer hood) so I think there will be plenty of room between the quarter panel and front bumper for even the widest of fender flares/tube fenders.
  2. Will the last JKs get the new engines?

If you're looking for better fuel economy the 2018 JK is not going to be rated any different. I'm hoping / expecting big improvement in this for the JL with the engine upgrades and aero changes.
  3. 2017-18 Wrangler (JK, JL, JT) Toledo Assembly Plant Schedule

It says "starting 3/31/2018 for an estimated 3-4 months or longer" so it could be August or later based on that. With a totally new vehicle I would always err on later. It might end up only a month or so earlier than what most people expected.
  4. 2019 Jeep Wrangler Pickup mule?

Could be to benchmark the 3.0 Ecodiesel? The J8 is a 2.8L turbo I4 diesel, I don't see why it would otherwise be brought to the states.
  5. What is a mild hybrid Wrangler?

From Wikipedia: Mild hybrids are generally internal combustion engines equipped with an electric machine (one motor/generator in a parallel configuration) allowing the engine to be turned off whenever the car is coasting, braking, or stopped, yet restart quickly. Mild hybrids may employ...
  6. New Jeep Wrangler to include gasoline, diesel, mild hybrid, full hybrid

Marchionne stated the JL is locked in and finalized many months ago (well before these mules were spotted). No reason to be testing diesel otherwise. It's not like these decisions are made and changed on a dime. Takes years of development and testing. Seeing a JL mule testing a diesel engine...
  7. New Jeep Wrangler to include gasoline, diesel, mild hybrid, full hybrid

Did you miss these photos of a mule spotted with the DEF tank and skid plate? http://jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/2018-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-diesel-mule-spied-with-def-tank.116/ I agree with the skepticism but until now it's all been rumors. This is solid evidence it's coming and with...
  8. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

By then we will see thr JT roll out and a whole new line of Jeep parts with it. Ive been fortunate enough to go to SEMA and the Wrangler totally dominates the show. Hundreds of JKs. I look forward to seeing the Bronco and if it debuts at SEMA you can be sure there will be a leak beforehand.
  9. Our New Jeep Wrangler (2018+) Unlimited and Pickup Preview Renderings

Still might.. I think the JT images are much more speculative guesswork than the JL. I have a feeling Jeep will give us all a good surprise for the pickup. Just wish we didn't have to wait so long!
  10. Our New Jeep Wrangler (2018+) Unlimited and Pickup Preview Renderings

Hot damn! Very well done and thank you for always keeping the JL news flowing while we all wait for the reveal, it helps pass the time. For the white version it's interesting that's exactly how I pictured the roof functioning when I saw the clay model. Would've loved to see a version without...
  11. 2018 Wrangler Images Revealed At Dealer Event! JT Pickup Previewed?

Well they have been calling it the WRANGLER pickup so I think it'll be pretty close if not identical to the Wrangler at least the front end. I would expect everything after the A pillar and to be pretty unique given it's a truck and not an SUV.
  12. JL Wrangler vs New Ford Bronco

Based on the history I dont see why not. Every Bronco ever made has had a top that could at least be partially removed. The '66 to '77 Broncos the entire roof could be removed. Granted after it became a full size you could only remove a portion of the roof but history suggests the next one...
  13. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Aluminum Parts Confirmed by Alcoa

It sounds like only the inner doors will be AL while the outer skin might still be made of steel. My guess is this will make it lighter and easier to remove but they kept the door exterior steel to protect one of the most easily damageable areas.
  14. 2018 Wish List

I like. You should bring this idea to the aftermarket. Too risky for a production Wrangler. Where you see function first, others would see bling first.
  15. 2018 Wrangler Open Tailgate Reveals Angled C-Pillar Design?

+1 If it were angled as much as the targa tops you would see the strut pushed way further in that it appears. You can judge based on this pic that if it had this design and the rear glass were open the strut would lean towards the front of the vehicle instead of relatively upright on that mule.
  16. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Production Grille and (and LED Headlights?) Exposed!

I keep reading about removable panels and wondering how that is going to be different than the Freedom Top. I'm guessing if the sport bar is replaced with hard pillars and roof rails the two front panels could be reworked to fit over them in much the same way. The back roof/rear panel that...
  17. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Production Grille and (and LED Headlights?) Exposed!

The grille slats has changed ever so slightly. The openings seem to be wider by millimeters and the edges are less rounded/more boxy shaped. Also has diamond mesh grille insert. Overall looks tougher and more modern so far. Compare:
  18. Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck (JT) Spy Pics!

That's a JK roof with a Ram bed so it's definitely a mule. Probably powertrain testing with this prototype. I know many want that removable JK roof but I would not be surprised if it comes fixed (possibly like the rest of the JL lineup).
  19. What's aluminum / steel on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Just a few degrees better aerodynamics in terms of the front fascia and windshield will make a big difference on the road at higher speeds. I've got a feeling the JL is going to be a much better road vehicle.
