  1. Has anyone else been the victim of unprovoked road rage since having a Jeep

Well, maybe one thing that could be a factor is that we tend to drive slower?...at least in my case i do drive at least 10 km/h slower than in another car, partly because it's just fun to cruise around in a jeep, but also because it's a high center of gravity vehicle. That might be a frustration...
  2. Has anyone else been the victim of unprovoked road rage since having a Jeep

Yeah that's more like it here too. Mercedes, BMWs and Teslas are typically the local offenders, driving as if the road belong to them, but they tend to avoid our jeep so far.
  3. Has anyone else been the victim of unprovoked road rage since having a Jeep

Interestingly enough, here (Canada) it seems we get less "uncivil" behavior when we are in our jeep than when in our other "generic brand SUV".
  4. JL Wrangler Soft Top & Mopar Torque Values

Just to let you know guys, the dealer/Jeep replaced the clamps (8 of them). Got them today. That was very fast.
  5. JL Wrangler Soft Top & Mopar Torque Values

Yeah I went there yesterday. Had to explain them that I don't torque these things "by hand" but with a digital torque wrench, and that the instructions have changed in the manual. They took pictures and they will open a case with the manufacturer. I'll post the results here.
  6. JL Wrangler Soft Top & Mopar Torque Values

Just starting to prepare the soft top for the summer and I noticed the exact same issue on the clamps: they're all starting to crack. I use a very precise digital torque wrench so there seems to be something very wrong with the instructions (2019 JLUR). Basically, the older instructions tell...
  7. 3.6L ESS Aux Battery Bypass

I don't know how long the Aux battery would last, but that's also part of the problem for me. Since we don't know how reliable that thing is, and it can actually strand the vehicle when/if it fails...it makes me nervous since i have to use the jeep in areas of tides which would just swallow a...
  8. 3.6L ESS Aux Battery Bypass

@Jebiruph So would you say that the Genesis system is a good enough way to say good bye to that aux battery? I'm thinking of installing that to solve the issue once and for all.
  9. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

Outstanding, mine looked as new as well where repaired. Well, that means our Green Weevils are on the road again. Safe winter to you.
  10. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

Very interesting pictures...they do have to disassemble a lot of things.
  11. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

In any case, the work is done and the Green Weevil has returned home at last. It arrived home and i instantly removed the soft top to put the hard top...1hr after that, the first snowstorm of the year came in...that was close :) Driving a wrangler is so different than an Acura RDX....after...
  12. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

As for my case, they're almost done apparently. Rustproofing and 3M front grille is all that remains i believe. Can't wait. They gave us an Acura RDX for the while...my wife really prefers the wrangler. So do i but i expected her to enjoy the comfort a bit more.
  13. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

Sounds good. Hope your repairs will go well for you. I've been waiting for parts for a while now.
  14. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

I don't get how your hitch was damaged...it sure looks like the frame took a serious hit there. Mine was merely deformed where the bumper connects to it. My speed was about 5mph but the other vehicle was at around 55....and she connected my bumper with a 45 degree angle, acting like a ramp...
  15. Body color matching bumper

This is the Jay Leno of jeeps...that chin. That being said, if the jeep itself was matte army green with an aftermarket bumper worth of mention, i wouldn't mind a match-painted bumper as much.
  16. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

Yeah...if we can actually call that plastic moulded piece a bumper. It's fortunate for her that she could use my solid bumper as a sliding ramp...if we had been 2 "crumpers", we'd have imbedded together and the results would have been much worse (she continued for 100 feet...that's alot of...
  17. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

So the insurance company has done their job, and the shop is working on the truck still. Some of the parts were back ordered, hence the delay. The amount of damage done (including work time and things like grease anti-rust treatment, 3m on the front grille and wheel alignment ) is about 13 000 $...
  18. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

I'll certainly have the frame inspected. There could be more damage under that we don't know, but i'll keep you posted. As for the other woman, there's something about -paying attention to the road- these days....all i know is she didn't see the jeep's led lights in front of her (not just...
  19. If anyone had doubts about partial frontal collisions with a wrangler...

Yeah i'll keep you posted, it depends if they find other system damages too...like the sway bar disconnect, lockers...and all the tiny things that needs replacing. That stuff can cost alot quickly. I think if they reach 70% of the value it's gone. That said, a wrangler is expensive, they for...
